The best way to prevent a hangover is to consume at least 8 cups of water, spread out throughout the day, before you plan to get wasted. Even better, do this for 2-3 days before you plan to party. If you want to be certain that you are hydrated, it does not hurt to consume a full bottle of gatorade just prior to your alcoholic festivities. It goes without saying that you should also have eaten well during the day. While you are drinking, if you want to be extra safe, you can use the "1 to 1" rule -- 1 glass of water consumed with every glass of alcohol. This is not entirely fun, however, since it makes you a) less drunk and b) pee all the time.

If, during the night of drinking, your stomach becomes upset -- anywhere from feeling nauseous to actually throwing up, *do not start consuming water to feel better*. Once your stomach lining is irritated, anything else you put in, including water, will further irritate the lining and just make you more sick. Gatorade is a safe bet, or just sleep it off.

The following morning, if you merely have a hangover, drink some Gatorade and head out to get an egg breakfast ASAP. Eggs contain a component that helps break down the chemical in your body (acetaldehyde) that makes hangovers extra rough. If you wake up the next morning and are puking, skip the eggs and drink a couple sips of Gatorade here and there until you stop throwing up.

Almost all hangover pills and such are bogus. With proper hydration and a way to rid yourself of acetaldehyde, you will be all set. Bottom line -- water to prevent, Gatorade + eggs to cure.

To treat a hangover doctors say to drink Poweraid because of the electrolytes in it. As well as if you have a headache treat it like a migrain. Sleep with an ice pack on your head, keep the rest of your body really warm, covered with many blankets so you are sweating.

The best way is not to drink too much. If you find you find you're a little fuzzy when you get home have a BIG glass of water and a tylenol or 2 before you go to bed. This should help with the headache the next day. Puking may also help. If you have to work thge next morning make sure you have a nice greasy breakfast before work. It will taste good going down but make sure you keep it down and you should be set for the next day.

Take the largest gram asprin you can find, borrow, steal, before going to bed with a large glass of water. In the morning go to the fridge and grab a jar of pickles and drink the juice, sounds gross but works. If that dosent work a small calibar bullit will do the trick.

Dramamine or a similar type of over the counter pill for motion sickness. Works great on hangovers.

When you get home, have 2 big glasses of water and 2 tablespoons of sugar, and 1 banana.

Set your Excedrin Migraine by the sink in the bathroom, with a big glass of water.

When you get up to pee, take 2 and drink up.

Then if that doesn't work, you just have to suck it up and remember all the fun you had the night before!

Summary for treatment: Eggs (break down an alcohol toxin), bananas (replenishes potassium that alcohol depletes), fruit juice (gets toxins out faster).

Found this info at: http://health.howstuffworks.com/hangover6.htm

Prevention:
Same as not getting drunk in the first place: eat and drink a good deal to lessen amount of alcohol that can be absorbed relative to everything else being digested.
