Check and Add Brake Fluid!!!!

Depending on the car it may also double as your low brake fluid light, so check your brake fluid and if it is low enough to turn your light on then it may be time for some new brake pads. As the linings wear, the fluid that was in your brake fluid reservoir is now in your calipers to take up the slack from worn linings.

The other thing it might be is your park brake switch is stuck on, but you would also have another problem like day time running lights not coming on.

But if it only comes on during braking, check the front pads and if they still have enough lining left also check the rear shoe adjustment to make sure it doesn't take too much fluid to apply the rear brakes.

In the mean time top up the fluid (if it is the problem) and get your brakes looked at before the lining is gone and they start to eat your rotors.

have your brakes checked by a mechanic.. there could be a few things.. either your hand brake is loose and it's being pulled up without your knowledge. .low brake fluid can only mean worn pads or you have leak of brake fluids, or your pads are worn causing fluid to be low.
