Africa has become a hotbed of Christian ideas overlying previous cultural beliefs and spawning some disturbing combinations of the two. It may be a glimpse into what was happening in the early days of Christianity in pagan Rome.
However this fellow could have easily come from the US. I doubt though that he was speaking English, and wonder how much his comments were tweaked in translation. He's amusing because he is portrayed as being so blatant and outspoken. Many preachers are more cunning when presenting their case. Hmmm....Maybe that isn't the case at all. The "Christ is the Answer Ministries" website is in English.
Some people highly prefer to think of themselves as God's anointed ones. If they accept evolution, accept they are type of primate, then they don't feel so special anymore. Oh no, can't have that.

What is it that Churches are trying to censor.
Let's start with "Lucy" Now even the discoverer of this so called missing link says that he was wrong when he proclaimed that he had found the bridge between apes and humans. However Museums still use Lucy as a fact. In its last issue NGS used Lucy as proof of evolution. Maybe churches want to have disproven exhibits censored.
Maybe they wish to censor the "Evolution of the Horse" series. To date there have been over 200 different "Evolution of the Horse" series. Which one is correct? Maybe they wish to censor all the incorrect ones.
Maybe they are opposed to the “archaeopterix” exhibits. Many museums use it as the link between reptile and bird. ln 1982 one large group of scientists declared it not a missing link but a bird. In 1983 another group of scientists declared it a hoax. Maybe they wish to censor museums that still say that “archaeopterix” is a fact.
Maybe they are upset that Museums still use the picture series of the "Similarities in the Development of the Embryo" even though this has been shown to be hugely misleading. In many cases features drawn in are not there (e.g. gill slits) and the series was drawn over 100 years ago. Maybe they want to censor museums that use outdated and misleading materials and say they are fact.
I could go on and on but I think that my piont is made

I think if the church pastors don't want their parishoners to see those exhibits they should stay the H... out of the museums. Why make life miserable and dull for the rest of us? Just like abortion,if you don't agree with abortion don't have one.
You folk who want to believe what the bible says about creation go right ahead, you have that right. But please don't take away my right to believe something different than you do. I agree with you about evolution scaring these people to death. I think they are afraid to admit that homo sapiens are also in the primate family. They want to think of themselves as higher than all other life on this planet. Why is it then that when most of the lower classes of animals fight for territory or food or the right to mate with females, the majority of the fight is bluffing and showing off how well developed they are. Very little blood is shed in those "fights". Now on to the higher order of life so to speak. Why is it that those of us of the so called higher order go out and kill and maime so many of our own often just for thrills or to find out what it feels like to kill someone? We are no better or higher than the rest of the primate family but some of us are afraid to see that connection. So stay home and let the rest of us enjoy the displays and exhibits at the museums.

It's a manifestation of fundamentalism. While it's possible to take evolution and integrate it into a religious mindset as a methodology set in motion by God, fundamentalists oppose such a move because they insist on taking a holy text literally and view any kind of loose or metaphorical interpretation for any part of the holy text as a perversion or heresy.
If you believe that your holy book is a literal description and it's the only supreme truth, you simply can't cope with evolution because it asks you to take your holy book as a metaphor.

It's like a child that says I have my hands over my eyes, I can't see you so you can't see me. Censoring evolution exhibits will not make evolution go away.

I think its ridiculous. They fear science because it can explain the 'miracles' they love so much. Modern science can explain just about every miraculous event in the bible. They refuse to believe in actual, physical proof as opposed to an ancient storybook.

The most hilarious thing about that is that they all try to portray evolution as a "theory in crisis". If it's a theory in crisis, why are they all scared to death of it?
