You sound like me. I had declared once and for all when I was 19 that I would never get married. However, I will have as many girlfriends as I need until I do get married, which so far has been..... one. I don't know if you sense my sarcasm here, but what I'm trying to tell you subtly is don't worry about it. If I see a beautiful girl, I automatically assume that she's already taken, so I don't bother them. My expectations and standards are very low and maybe you shouldn't shoot for the extremely beautiful LOOKING girls, go for the beautiful PERSONALITY of a girl. That right there is enough said.
Sorry if I didn't use spell check, I typed that in a hurry.

That sounds depressing. Lighten up homie I was shy all throughout high school but was still able to have many girls approach me. Even if you are shy or scared of hot girls, you can simply smile, hold the door for a girl, or be nice to a girl to show you that you like her. You dont have to talk a lot or be a cocky jerk. Dont know how old you are but once I got to college it is easy to get girls. For one reason because some college girls are easy but for my main reason because girls start acting more mature and there are longer those stupid clicks like in high school. Just smile at a girl and ask her how shes doin?!

dude, don't be intimidated by the 'cocky and smooth' guys, 95% of them are just fronting and are only a temporairy distraction for any girl of merit ( I think) I am often 'cocky' and only sometimes 'smooth', but my shy friends get better girls than I do. So, take solace in yourself, and don't look the other way, all you have to do is smile back, that will get you a long way!! Girls LOVE a nice smile, (same as you love it when you see a cuty smile!)

Don't worry, our world still lets the quiet, geeky types get the last laugh. Anyway, a few quick suggestions are to exercise as that will improve your self-image and for conversation people always like being asked about themselves, so just start conversations that way. Ask about what they did last night, or what they are doing, or did they watch that show? You can keep a conversation going for a long time by just asking more questions, and most people will like you because they will generally like people who express interest in them. Over time your confidence will grow. Trust me, I've been there.

I'm the same way as you... except I'm female and I'm very guy shy; however, I've never had a problem dating. I dated a few guys from school, but my most serious relationships were 2 guys I met online (my ex bf and the guy I live with now). Maybe you should consider chatting with your schoolmates online and then it'll be easier to talk to them in person.

There's nothing wrong with being quiet! You just have to be able to talk enough to make a girl realize you are better than the competition. It sounds like you just need a little confidence. If you believe in yourself and believe you are better than the competition you will have no problems!

You will get a girlfriend...just start getting involved with things that you like...ie, if you like to play baseball, join a co-league softball team, if you like to read....go to your local library and see if there is a book club. Definitely do not give up on women, unlese you truly have no desire to date or befriend a woman
