Acceptance is very important in everything we are. Ask yourself first though, why are you scared? are you afraid of losing your long time friend, or your new boyfriend. do you feel that since he is the first "real" boyfriend, you don't want to lose what you have "found?" once you have your answer then...Ask him why he was mean. but dont press him directly. validate his feelings by saying something like, "It seems to me you aren't comfortable around my friends, and thats ok. Is it something we can talk about?" When given the choice, he may open up. Hopefully if he is able to see that whatever stereotype he has categorized your freind in, isn't true, he will come to accept them and apologize for his behavior. Then again, young boys often have a very narrow view of the world, he may not be the one for you. Love lost always hurts, but love will find you again. Dont be afaid of losing it, because your friendship with your best friend is (or should be) more valuable.

I've had problems like this before to. A lot of times, if your boyfriend can't be nice to your friend, things aren't going to work out. Plus, do you really want someone around that's going to treat your friends badly? You're friends should always come before guys!

He needs to respect you and everything about you, friends included. Maybe he and your friend will just never get along. Talk to him, and let him know it upset you. If he gets angry or hurt, he's not worth your time. Good luck.

don't be scared.... tell him how mad you are and how uncool he's acting.... and if he doesn't straighten him out... dump him,, then he'll come crawling back and behave better .. for awhile... then it'll all start up again.... he's immature.... and you probably are too.. good luck
