Well you need to return it and buy it from a retailer that thinks enough of their customers to sell them a full solution to their product.
What you need is a TV with an HD **TUNER** built into it to pull in over the air broadcasts. A set that is sold as HD ready, generally does not have this. Perhaps that is why you purchased it? cause it seemed cheap? Just go out and purchase a decent HD tuner (bout 200 bucks) and some high end component video cables (bout 100 bucks)... then return to the store who neglected to sell these to you, and smack someone up the side of the head.

By the way, you don't need a tuner if you subscribe to cable or sat for HD. They have tons of programming, far more than an over the air set up will get you.

Also, if you bought this TV cause it was cheap, you probably didn't buy a legit brand. Allow me to stress my opinion that YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR with this stuff. Buy a Samsung, Hitachi, Sony, or Toshiba... return that Akai, Sylvania, Vizio, Haier, or anthing else that Walmart carries.

Good luck

Over the air HD programming requires an antenna.

That's it. You don't need to buy a fancy $400 antenna, either. A cheap one will do if you live pretty close to the transmit towers, and a powered one will compensate if you don't.

If your TV is HD "ready", that means that it doesn't have an HD Tuner. In which case, you'll have to buy a HD receiver, and you can find those at Best Buy, Circuit City or Tweeter stores.

first you need to connect your digital cable using DVI to HDMI (make sure this is under 6 feet) or use the componant cables to the blue green and red connectors....or use hdmi the hdmi.... just remember that DVI only carries video and no sound...so you will have to connect the audio other that that...enjoy
