I met this woman about 4 years ago, but lost touch till about 6 months ago, and we got along great. I love this woman more that anything. She says that I am not emotionally accertive enough for her, but someday I might be. Should I try to be the person she needs, or be who I know I am, even if that means possibly losing the person I can see spending the rest of my life with?

Ooooo
No.

Ya cant fake it buddy, or maybe you can for a while, but if it aint in you, it wont last.

tag it while you can, but dont get attached, be ready to drop it when she gives a sign ( like dates with other dudes maybe? )

And from what it sounds like, you are already attached ( this is what she means by "not emotionally assertive" ) you might as well just head on to greener pastures.

If you have loved this woman for that long, I think you should go for it. But don't change yourself in the process- you'll just end up resenting her for it.

It's one thing to grow into one's potential and another to become someone we're not. That is a decision we must make for ourself.
