Yes all the details of the operation including what they sutured you with and whether or not the sponge count was correct etc are in your medical records. To veiw your medical records you have to go the medical records department where you had the surgery and personally request a copy of your medical records. There may be a charge for them to copy the records but not all places charge.

You go to the hospital 's medical record department and tell them you want a copy of your medical record. If a doctor was requesting this with your permission, it would be free. Since you want it, you will probably have to pay. Some charge by the number of pages. Always get your cover page, and any/ all other pages you want. They will tell you the price before they copy if you request it.

I'm guessing that they have to detail any operation you have for a record of it. You can obtain a copy of your medical records through the medical record dept. usually in writing and they probably charge a fee. If there's anything there they don't want you to see they'lll block it out anyway.

Details of surgery are noted - to some extent. Of course, not every single minute detail is recorded since the procedure doens't lend itself to that kind of accountability. As far as accessing records, all you need do is ask. You are entitled at any time to access your records.

Just tell your doctor you want a copy of your records. Its your legal right to have them. There shouldn't be any problem getting them.
You will probably have to request them in writing or in person at the Doctors office or hospital. Just call the Doctor/Hospital who preformed the surgery and they will tell you what you need to do.

go to hospital and/or doctors office to the medical record area and ask for a copy, it may cost you money, but you have a right to all data in your record

yes doctors have to document every little thing they do to you! Check with the attending physician and ask to see your records. Don't let them say you have to pay to see them or can't see them- under HIPPA guidelines you have the right to see them and tell them to take out any information you don't wish they include in them- if there diagnose is in-correct.
