whatever your hair naturally is, go the opposite.

I'm answering this as if you're talking about perming your hair...So bare with me if I misunderstood because this doesnt say if your hair is thick, thin, curly, or straight.

The in thing now is the side part with chunky side bangs. That looks cool. Also lowlights with red and browns. (again, no idea of the color)

I have long fine pin straight hair that is healthy
I used to have thick pin straight healthy hair.
I permed it a few years ago.
And I loved it while it lasted, but hated it after it grew out a few inches and I was forced to straighten it so it didnt look so weird. (pin straight roots with curly bottom)
I really wouldnt perm it if you have any damage or fine hair, because it seriously will kill it. My hair, even after years, has changed in it's texture after the perming. It takes a looong time to grow out, and your hair (stupid me I got it layered before I permed it) had a LOT of split ends because of the layering, the layers were damaged by the perm, and so it took even longer to grow out.

There is so much to do to achieve different looks without perming it. You can braid it, hot curl it, spong curls overnight, curling iron, buns, half curled up with straight bottom, curl it then the next day where it up with loose curls hanging.
If you DO perm it, my advice to achieve a natural look, wash, condition, then brush it out, and flip your head upside down and spray Herbal Essense leave in condioner on the outside of your hair (the underside normally) and also on the inside of your hair nearst your body (normally the part everyone sees) try to keep to the parts of your hair that come out of a pony tail and stay away from your face and roots. Then scrunch and use a diffuser/hairdryer and a lot of fluffy scrunching. This achieves a natural, not crunchy style that holds the curl and smells good.

depends on how your curls look. If you have those bouncy, uniform, perfect curls like the girl on the pantene commercial, go for it. If your curls look like granny or sloppy curly, go straight.

"Straight"
"versatile"
"turning over a new leaf"
"sexy"

If you're starting over, wouldn't you just do your hair differently from how you normally wear it?
