Not sure how that 4x4 works if i live in the city, planning a trip to the snow here in the monutains and just wondering what to expect?

Well sounds like you got yourself a nice truck. unfortunately you have a 4.6 under the hood. The motor to me is underpowered. Living out here in the sticks of Kansas we get to run trucks through the paces, and I have had the pleasure of driving all of the different engines. The 4.2 v-6 is junk, way underpowered and its definetly for the city folks. Next is the 4.6, runs smooth decent fuel mileage, but just to underpowered for hauling and serious off roading. The 5.4 is my motor of choice in the 1/2 ton trucks. It has some serious low end power and runs like a monster on steroids. In the 3/4 ton trucks the 5.4 has the same problems as the 4.6 in the 1/2, gets you by, but somewhat lacking. The 6.8 is a runnin little s.o.b, but sucks fuel like a camel. The 7.3 powerstroke is the best for economy power and reliability, cause the 6.0 is a piece of junk. As far as the off-roading goes, these trucks do awesome for a truck with the IFS.(Which you have, trust me). Just get your self a good set of all terrain or mud terrain tires or you will have trouble with traction.

Do not use your 4x4 in the rain unless its a AWD . 4x4 designed for off road or slippery conditions. You can burn out the trans case if use on a not slippery surface. 4x4 makes a huge difference off road. Does your truck have 4x4 if not don't go crazy off road as you will get stuck . Using 4x4 today is as simple as pushing a button and off you go just ease into it and learn what your truck will do . If you can have a buddy with you and tow strap. First time out you will get stuck so be prepared. Have fun out there it a blast. By the way your truck should have lots of power to go off road.

properly first, I congratulate you for having the most information and being very concise with those information. 2d, i experience that is with reference to the starter motor. because you suggested it is going away after a short era of time, 60 seconds, then it leads me to believe that the gears interior the starter motor are literally not perfect aligning or are literally not disengaging wisely, causing the knocking you listen. i ought to experience free that ought to really help you larger in case you emailed me.
