You do not in all likelyhood have any sort of infection, but you do have an injured knee and they do swell and get stiff. Motrin (Ibuprofen) will help with swelling and pain, ice for the knee will help keep the swelling under control. Frozen peas make a better substitute for the ice, and can be molded to fit the knee. Keep the leg straight out from the body, knee propped on a pillow for support. You can do more for the poor skin by laying off the peroxide and using a nice antibiotic ointment and bandage on the scrapes and dings. It's going to be stiff and sore for a while, until it all heals. After a day of ice, put on heat- using a heating pad on low. That will increase blood circulation to speed up the healing process. Change the dressing daily until you get good healing and the scabbing starts to come loose. Tylenol and Motrin are both good for pain/discomfort. You are going to walk stiff legged for a week or so, no matter what you do, but young and healthy people heal fairly quickly. Once the skin scabs a bit, you can help it by applying vitamin E oil, from a gel cap, to the skin. It will absorbe directly where it's needed most, and help discourage a bit of the scarring. You are going to have some scars no matter what, lucky knees are not the most attractive features in anyone. Relax, you aren't dying and the knee is not permanently damaged. It's had a good bang, that's all. Good luck, and next time you are out running and fall- aim to hit your backside and hip. They take bangs a lot better than arms, hands and knees.

If there is no pus discharges, no fever, it's probably just inflammation following an injury. Assuming it's a bad superficial scrape with bleeding and swelling, rinse the wound with cold tap water for at least 10-20 seconds, to stop the bleeding and bring down the swelling. Then apply an antiseptic cream (i.e. Hexodane or any other that contains chlorhexidine or iodine) to the wound with clean hands daily. Don't use soap.

It's too early for you to have developed an infection if you incurred the injury today... it's more likely a serious sprain, or worst case, a ligament injury to your knee.
Apply ice packs to your knee until it becomes uncomfortable, and continue the ice pack treatment for the first 48 hours, then consider heating packs and heating ointments. Wrap the knee with an athletic bandage, and keep your weight off the knee.
Note that as the one leg is injured, your other leg will have to take up the strain, and you could very easily injure or strain that leg as well. Be careful.

If you knee is swelling up you need to get ice on it. Also do not use preoxide on the wounds as this is rather harsh. Use soap and water only. Apply a good antibiotic ointment from the drug store or use tea tree oil. Keep the wounds covered during the day to prevent your clothes from rubbing on them but once they start to heal leave them open to air at night for sure.

Hydroge Peroxide is good, but if you have holes in your hand you probably need to see a doctor you may need antibiotics to help with the infection.
