he talks to me like we are best friends. he said he "saw" me at the movie thetre the other day and came up behind "me" and put his hands over "my" eyes and said guess who. i guess i figured if he would go up to me in public and do something that good friends do, he likes me more than just a friend. he talks to me almost the whole class. and all my friends tell me to just ask him out.

hope that gives you enough details to give me a good answer!

okay I need more details on the situation... like what does he do that gives u the impression that he might... because he might be flirting for the fun of flirting...

Do you talk to him? if so.. how close are you with him... maybe .. start a conversation and be like... uhm.. ya single life sucks... so are u seeing anyone and if he says no.. be like... Oh.... well do u like anyone... and stuff and let it go from there...
and the xmas gift thing I cant help you with it depends how the guy is.. Im having trouble getting my boyfriend a gift.

You should spend more time with him then just in math class. Hang out with him with other friends at first and then ask him to stay behind a few minutes. Ask him to coffee or something very simple that doesn't have to last longer than 30 minutes. If he doesn't feel obligated to stay with you, he'll most likely accept your offer. If he stays for longer than 30 minutes, he probably can see a future relationship with you. If not, then it wasn't meant to be.

As for the gift situation, what does he do in his free time?
If he is a musician, get him guitar picks, or drumsticks, or a vinyl of his favorite band.
If he likes sports, get him tickets to a game.
If he likes art, get him a canvas, or a sketchbook.

It all depends on who he is. Generic gifts aren't personal or cute.

Aww, this sounds so cute. Anyway... i would ask him if he is open. Then i would ask him if he is interested in a relationship. Then i would get a friend to ask him if he is interested in you. If he says yes, then your in bussiness. If he is an iffy, and your not to sure if he likes you. Get to know him more, and let him get to know you more. Get close to him and yatta yatta yatta. Before you know it, you 2 will be close friends in under 3 weeks. And then, 1 of you can ask the other out.(oH, did you know more and more now, girls are asking guys out?)sorry, i thought that was interesting lol. Anyway, by then, you 2 can very well be under the mistletoe and kissing.... Sweet dreams huh? But you have to make them. As for the present, i suggest something simple. If you 2 have transgressed far, then i would buy massage oil that smells very good, and have A ROMA-ntic night. ;)

How about you try asking him out alone, and try to know him better. Maybe you can ask him what he likes in girls or something.

And as a friend, you can give him present on x'mas as well, you doesn't need him to declare his love for you in order for you to get him a present.

hmmmm..... this a difficult territory because guys are so hard to read.... from my experience I have learned that guys only befriend a girl if they are interested. If he's doing nice things for you, like walking you to your next class or remembering things you've said before or even just asking about your life, then he probably has a thing for you. I say, go for it..... if you think he's worthy then you've got nothing to lose. PS> find out what he likes and get him something that reflects on that, like tickets to a sports game.... hope this helps.

A little lust will do the trick, my friend! Make him want you. Maybe ask him out somewhere after a little while of hanging out.

good luck!
