My roomates cat comes and goes for like 2 weeks every other month or so...

It's going to seem like forever. Some cats, if they don't breed come into another heat faster. It is natures way of preserving the species. Do yourself a favor. Vets can spay when a cat is in heat. They just have to do some hormone balancing. It will be easier for you to pay the bucks than endure the wailing of the heat cycle. They can also get uterine infections. Better for the cat to spay.

Getting her spayed is the best thing that you can do for her. It is also better for her long term health. She will be less at risk for certain reproductive cancers, mammary cancer (which is quite high is unspayed females), pyometras, false pregnancies and more.

Cats are considered seasonal polyestrus induced ovulators which means that she will go in and out of heat every couple of weeks unless she gets bred and it usually lasts from March to October.

it depends. One of my cats stayed in heat for a week and a half. thank god we have her spayed now, it was driving me crazy!!!

cats are in heat almost constantly but only have really one really bad week that you know of

Get your pet spayed or neutered! Don't you ever watch the Price is Right?

I'm not sure about it. mine went into heat today, i gave it medicine to controle it.
