I think we are definitely influenced by the context we grow up in, our family, society's pressure, and so on. We can either become exactly what THEY wanted us to be, or react and be different, sometimes the opposite--and that's not ourselves either, cause we rejected a lot of things, just cause they came from people we didn't like...
but the deepest part of our soul, i strongly believe we are born with it. It's ours and no one's else, so that another person, growing up in our very same situation and context, would react in a totally different way.
but who would we be without any influence? if we grew up totally free, maybe in the jungle, who would we be today?
I wonder...

Not really. Many of the people who have come to America have faced race and religious bias. Including the Indians who were here first. We became the Great Melting Pot only after we experienced wars and depressions and all the other bad times. It is during these hard times that we learn to look for the good and the best in others. Then comes acceptance.

Can't you see the difference between those immigrants the immigrants we have now?

Can't you see that those immigrants actually carved out their own lives here and made a contribution instead of milking the system like the ones are now?

Why don't people see or understand no one is against immigration, just illegal immigrants who haven't stopped committing crimes since?

Well that is just about the sweetest thing I have ever heard. You have all the makings of a political candidate.

Whoever WE learned from I would say, We learned from an idiot."
You are right Monkey see Monkey do.
Ever hear of a cook book?

What about our culture? Work hard, spend wisely and get ahead.

Immigrants in the past came here, blended in and became part of society. Now they want to annex The United States. Furthermore get paid for doing it.

To sum it, we have become what we have today by KISSING all of the minority groups ASSES. I for one have not acquired the taste.

Being an immigrant is as AMERICAN as Apple Pie

Are we not all immigrants or descendants of immigrants?
(w/ exception of the American Indian)
Have we forgotten ourselves? Have we forgotten our own heritage? We have, or sadly so it appears, many of us have........
.............and I thought
" this land is our land, this land is your land"
?

YES YES YES, and to add to that, one of my favorite quotes of all times:

"Remember, remember always, that all of us, and you and I especially, are descended from immigrants and revolutionists."
