thou shall not kill... does that apply if someone is trying to kill you? and you are trying to protect yourself? because id think it wouldnt be a sin if you were protecting yourself from a psycho path with a ninja sword that wants your head as a trophy... that was probably a bad example but you all know what i mean

"Thou shalt not kill" is a mistranslation of the original Hebrew. The actual commandment is best translated as: "Do not murder".
Killing in self defense is clearly not murder. In fact, not to defend yourself would be a sin.

convinced! Killing is a so called sin. that is often an act of desperation in many situations brought about with the aid of a mistake with the aid of the fellow who does the killing. In different words, none persons are without sin. Jesus actual stated it obviously speaking about his protection of a lady who change into about to be stoned to demise. Jesus stated and that i paraphrase, He who has no sin throw the first stone. In different words, people do no longer have the right to kill others at any time. yet, there are situations when we do no longer have a decision. we are able to kill others if so, even if that is termed, justifiable homicide. You killed, yet there change right into a reason that in superb condition the crime. Or, a justification on your moves. yet, mutually, it change into contained in the words of the truly non secular, a sin. you may take this element to protection of the native land and capital punishment. also they're sins. convinced, the fellow might want to nicely be a valid member of a protection rigidity, or someone who needs to journey a experience of justice and likely revenge with the aid of having a killer performed for his or her crime. it continues to be a sin to kill. Thou shalt no longer Kill!

You have the right to life and the sanction of the universe to fight to preserve it.
When there is no other option.
Now, if you did take a life be prepared to Justify the reason why...
You take the responsibility explaining to the authorities with evidence presented why...Life is precious no mater who it is...
So be prepared to Justify it.
On the religious side...I don't know...if it was proved it was Justified by a court of law, See Romans 13: 1-4 read all. but in the final analysis God is the judge.
I teach the art of Aikido...I would like to explain more, but this isn't the place. If you would like to find out more please e-mail at dsd-391@yahoo.com
Take care of yourself, because you deserve it.

I am not for certain but I do know one thing, It says in the bible Thou Shalt not kill, it does not imply any acceptances, We are only human and by nature we will defend ourselves, but I think if that happened there would be a definite need to repent your sin.

I wonder this myself,. I also think this is a great question for those of you who think abortion is wrong no matter what. If a woman has an abortion to save her own life, is it not in self defense? GOOD question. It's going to be interesting to see people's answers.

No, it's not a sin in that case. There was even a city of refuge in the OT where one could flee if this was the case, until it was proven.

I believe God knows my heart well enough to know I am his child from head to toe. I also believe he knows that if someone were attacking me or my loved ones, I would get medieval with swiftness and absolutely no prejudice.

As a Christian, and as a father, I WILL kill anybody who tries to touch my daughter in any way I don't see appropriate.
