could a few of the jewish people here fill me in on their views on kabbalah i have a good understanding of many of its concepts and understand that it is suppose to be a mystic branch of judaism is there truth to this

I have been studying many of Israel Regardie's works and yes not interested in the mainstream junk at all can anyoner recommend some good traditional texts /authors also

Traditionally, Jews didn't study Kabbalah until they reached the age of 40 and they had a firm grounding in both the Torah and Talmud. More recently though younger people are studying it.

You're right about it being the mystic branch of Judaism. I firmly believe that one should study Judaism many years before trying to understand Kabbalah. There is enough to learn about Judaism itself to keep one occupied for many, many years!

Kabbalah is the ancient spiritual knowledge. I believe that this is a knowledge not unique to Jews, but the Kabbalah explains it in a Jewish way.

"Kabbalah" is sometimes translated as "tradition"

95% of the stuff (Madonna) is just for show with no meaning.

Real Kabbalah is hard to understand and requires a life time of study.

jewish kabbalah is great. mainstream kabbalah is a crappy wannabe.
