I am totally crazy about Campari. I like to drink it neat and well chilled. I also don't mind it with some ice.

Yes. Usually, with orange juice.

Now and then, I'll hit on a place with excellent orange juice that'll also put in just the right quantities of Campari, juice, and ice -- and these sorts of kind people usually add a little orange slice to the side of the glass, too, in which case I'm a customer for life.

Mixing it with OJ seems to add another dimension to the taste; very, very vaguely apricot-y, sometimes.

That said, soda water's fine too... Lemonade isn't a bad alternative, though.

I adore Campari! On the rocks is great, but my favorite is Campari + Soda. Yummm.

I've never had it, but one of my customers ordered it with Orange Juice (a Campari screwdriver).

Negroni Cocktail II

1 fluid ounce gin
1 fluid ounce campari
1 fluid ounce sweet vermouth
1 twist lemon zest

DIRECTIONS

1. In a cocktail mixer full of ice, combine gin, campari and sweet vermouth. Stir, and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a twist of lemon zest.
