I come home everyday with about two hours of homework. I feel stressed and getting bad grades in some of them. I don't know what to do. If you've done all honors, please tell me if it was worth it. (College apps, interviews, portfolios, jobs, etc).
I'm looking for a good answer!

Two hours of homework??? That's nothing. Right now, I'm only in middle school, and there are only honors for math (Algebra I Honors) and Language Arts (which is Verbal), and I still get more than 2 hours of homework. So I really don't see how it can be so hard and stressful. I still get A's and A+'s in it.

I took all honors courses in high school, and I highly recommend it. It is harder, and you may not get straight As like you were probably used to in elementary school and junior high, but worth it in the long run.

Even though I wasn't in the top 10% of my class because I got Bs in honors classes where I would have had As in a comparable non-honors course, I still got a full scholarship to college. Admissions officers look at things like honors credits when considering applications, trust me.

Also, honors courses make it easier to succeed in college, which is where it really matters as far as job prospects and further education go. You would be amazed at how many kids get to college not knowing how to write a simple five page paper, which you are going to be required to do in almost all your basic English, History, or Social/Behavioral Science classes. Taking honors English in high school will put you way above the curve in this area! You'll also be used to the heavy workload in college, because you dealt with a similar workload in high school. Knowing how to budget your time is invaluable. While other kids are struggling to find time to finish their homework, you will have already done it and be enjoying campus life:)

Stick with it and I promise you will thank yourself in the long run.

honors classes i'm not sure about, but if they are AP classes, they are definitely worth it. they reduce your workload a lot in college if you do well. i bypassed 6 quarters of french at the university just by getting a 5 on the AP. honors classes that aren't APs look good on an app, but good grades look better, so if you would do much better grade-wise in a non-honors class, you may want to change.

If you take honour classes, you have to be prepared for extensive homework. I took all honour classes and although it was a lot of work, it was worth it in the end. I learned how to plan and manage my time effectively which certainly helps when you have deadlines to keep.
