I like Christmas, because it is supposed to be the celebration of the birth of Christ. During the times that this was going on (the anticipation of his birth and then the event itself), this was a VERY big deal. Back then, people read the Bible (which at the time consisted only of the "old testament") and knew the prophets spoke of a savior that would come. They mentioned specific events that would come about, and Jesus fulfills ALL of the prophecies.
People rejoiced about Jesus being born because they knew that this was the beginning of freedom.

BUT--- Easter is a far more important event because Christ's death is really what saves us.

Once a year around March or April, Jehovah's Witnesses commemorate the death of Jesus. This memorial service shows our appreciation for the sacrifice Jesus Christ made in our behalf so that are sins can be freely forgiven.

Easter as it not only signifies new life and the springtimes return, it is another reminder of how Jesus conquered death to bring the rest of us victory.
