Who said that? I do not believe there is a single atheist in the entire continuum that makes such broad and sweeping generalisations. I refute the above, most singular arguments, with equal extravagance in verbosity and mordancy.

Many try to lump us together. There are two things that Atheists have in common all the time.
1-We don't believe that there is a god which leads all of us to hear it from the religious.
2-We tend to be free thinkers.
That is really about it.
The result of this is that we disagree on a lot of issues. You can not lump us together on moral questions because we don't have a high authority to do the final judging. So if there is social disagreement, there will be disagreement among atheists.
On the other hand Christians claim a higher authority and a common belief in the way the universe is put together. Therefore it is possible to assume that if you claim to be a Christian that automatically means that you are supposed to believe a certain way on certain subjects. For instance you should have certain ideas about the way the universe came to be. You should also have similar beliefs about the morality of sex.

actually, I think that you really are making a generalization when you say "many atheists" instead of more accurately saying "many atheists who I know," so perhaps the ones who say you generalize are correct. Note, I said "you" not all religious people. Many atheists are hypocritical, yes, but many people who are religious are also hypocritical--i can think of several wars waged in the name of god and a very current jihad going on now in the name of god. i think that, like you, atheists have the right to believe what they do without having to defend their beliefs. I don't criticize religious people who don't hurt others, don't prostletize, and are decent--and that's what i like about religous people who are genuine--they are good, decent moral people, but just know that it does not take a belief in god to be these wonderful things. it takes a belief in the positive qualities of the human condition.

All of YOUR statements are generalizations with your use of the word "many" in every one of them. "Many atheisists" in every statement?
Who's laughing? I for one am. Your arrogance and ignorance is laughable. Not all Christians comments, not all in general, but yours here on this question certainly are.

I would probably say firstly that atheists use the bible itself, or common sense as a defense, not generalizations. While some do use it, Christians are just as guilty if not moreso of generalizing or simply saying, "Well, that's what the bible says so, so that's what I think." I know for myself, that's an extreme source of frustration when people say that they're going to believe something just because something or someone told them to do that. To me, that shows they have no free will or the ability to think for themselves. If I had a dollar for every time I've seen someone said "Because the bible says so" on here, I would be rich.
When I see excuses or generalizations like that, it just makes me shake my head at the herd mentality.

First of all, if the questions asked were not vague and generalized, we wouldn't have to point out that fact. Many people of other religions generalize as well.
ALSO...so many people are absolutely ignorant to atheism, assuming that we are all bad people with miserable lives. That is not the case...If the askers would present logical and educated questions, your question would hardly be necessary!

Probably because you made a generalization that unfairly cast atheists in a negative light. If I were to ask, "Why are Christians bigots," you'd be quick to point out that not all of them are.

Focusing on generalizations is not a tactic unique to atheists; it's a method anyone will use to defend their beliefs if they don't know what they're talking about. Atheists can be guilty of this, Christians can be guilty of this, everyone can be guilty of this. KNOW WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT OR SHUT UP.

Because "Generally" Christians use circular reasoning ( A.K.A begging the question) as a reasoning method, which is like using a rock for fish bait.
