I dated a girl for 5 months and at the end of our relationship came to believe that she truly deceived me. She never cheated (that I know of) or was mean, but she was mostly just irresponsible, deceptive, and immature. After we broke up, I made a decision that she was not a positive person in my life and completely cut her out. I have not spoken to her or had any kind of interaction whatsoever since the day I told her how disappointed I was 9 months ago.

She's not a bad person and we had some pretty good times when we were together. Is it wrong or unreasonable to cut someone out of your life so harshly just because you feel they were bad for you?

No, sweetie, it's not wrong. When you end a relationship, the very best thing you can do for yourself is distance yourself from him/her. That's a very natural thing. What's more, it's a very HEALTHY thing.

It's possible that someday you may find yourself in a friendly relationship with her. Great! But for now, don't worry about it.
You're not being mean, you're doing what you need to do for YOU.

Good luck!

Well u did a good thing and i would do the same but i dont think u should have cut her out of ur life! Just try to be friends with her if u want but not close friends then she might think that u want her back when or if u dont. So if she is still trying to talk to u, talk to her back. I hope this information helps. Good Luck!!!!

Not really... I don't think so. Think of back in school, when there were friends that liked to goof around and your grades got hurt when you hung out with them. You might have not been mature enough then to be able to balance your friendship and studies. Maybe it's the same thing with this girl.

Anyway, it was 9 months ago and I am pretty sure she is over you, so stop giving yourself that much credit.

No you shouldn't cut anyone off like, you two can still be friends. maybe she isn't for you so talk to her and do everything from now on as friends and friends only, actually both of you have a lot of growing to do. see that's the mistake we young people make, we get too serious too young or early relationship wise. were you two friends at all first before you started going out?

not if you think you would have trouble staying away from her knowing there is no future there. i would have rather the guy i was seeing off and on for almost 4 years. it would have saved me a lot of heartache. like your situation he thinks i'm a wonderful person etc but he doesn't think i'm the right person for him (even though he says he's in love etc) but the whole time he kept coming back around he knew there was no future but still wanted to be around me etc. so no from the other end i would have rather him just called it quits and cut me off that's the unselfish thing to do.

Don't feel guilty, bro. Life goes on. Better to do what you did than spend 2 years together and watch your finances disappear and your life get lame. Break-ups happen, give it time and keep moving forward.

Well If you weren't happy with her, you have no choice but to break up with her right? but seriously, girls are sensitive. So don't tell her like I was disappointed and stuff. If you didn't have big fight or anything, you should've break up with her more nicely. But It depends on you that if you want to cut her out of your life or not.

you were right to cut her out of your life. Why give her the chance to lie and deceive you again and again?
