I totally agree with you. As an Atheist it is this sort of thing along with policies that affect teaching science, keeping seperation of church and state, funding research, and reproductive rights. I have no problem living in a pluralistic society and respecting other's rights to have differing beliefs but where those beliefs intersect my rights to live on a decent planet, have my children well educated in science (not indoctrinated), make my own reproductive decisions based on medical information not Biblical beliefs, and strive to leave a better world for my children I think it becomes necessary to engage in the debate. It scares me to think there are people who think that it is all rather mote since Jesus is coming soon anyway or may actively encourage foreign policy decisions to facilitate Biblical prophecy.

LOL!!! I'm sorry but that is the most ridiculous quote I've ever heard! The whole purpose Adam was placed on this earth was to care for it! Well, that's not the only purpose but it was part of the package. I think it's great that atheists are reading and writing in this section. Some people have questions about Christianity and other religions that they want answered. Why not here?

That person is an idiot who doesn't know his bible. A basis of the Chirstian faith is Christ will return and call believers to heaven. But there will then be a time when the antichrist rules and those who remain are to choose sides for or against Christ. After a time of plagues and tribulations (debated 3 1/2 or 7 years) Christ will return and reign on earth for 1000 years. Shouldn't we try to keep it nice for Him? I am glad ya'll are here. If it was just us it would be really boring. A different opinion especially an intellegent one is interesting and breeds acceptance.

> "Why waste our money taking care of a planet
> which will be destroyed by Jesus anyway"
Yes, I think this is a good example of a fundamental difference of perspective between some short-sighted Christians and those of us (the more common, open-minded Christians included) who care about our planet and all the living creatures that live upon it, all of whom rely upon one another for our continued existence.

Dude...as a Christian I would even argue that guy was wrong. (I believe that we are to be stewards of the Earth that God has made for us) There are people who are less mature in whatever group you talk to: atheist, christian, buddhist, wiccan...so, no it doesn't suprise me that atheists come here. Some are intrigued, some are egotistical, and some are just downright ignorant and rude.

I personally agree, that is one of my problems with Christianity also, I believe in God and I have no problem with Atheist coming here, tests should never scare those who truly have answers and those who don't claim to also, only those who lie or have lost their grasp on reality are afraid of those who ask questions.

Will Christians stop asking that bloody question 10 times a day? The answer is still the same. You stop trying to force your religion on us through the bloody law, and the atheists will leave YOU alone.

I welcome them with open arms. They help me to stay grounded to my faith and I believe and support it all that much more. I think some of them actually think they are bringing some of us 'to our senses". They make me think no doubt, but mostly they make me realize that my convictions are 100% correct. And when I retire for the night, I pray for them, honestly and truly......

I agree. And that's a totally ridiculous quote. It's both amazing and disturbing that some people actually think like that.
