"Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every living creature". Mark 16:15

Why are christians focusing only on humans? Aren't elephants, siberian huskies, and tapeworms also creatures?

Did Jesus intend for the disciples to go and preach the gospel to “every creature”? Surely this was a figurative statement rather than literal. May we presume that he did not refer to elephants, horses, whales, oysters, dogs, rats, mice, etc. etc. So these “creatures” must have been people. But which people? Since we have established that the “world” was the world of the dispersed Israelites, then the only reasonable conclusion would be that the “creatures” were Israelites.

Mark 16:15-16
5 And then he told them, "You are to go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone, everywhere.

What translation are you using. This is the Living Translation.
Why be so picky? It is obvious what Mark is saying. Animals don't have souls, and therefore just die, and return to the soil.

There are many interpertations to this however most christians believe that you can not preach to non human life forms ie. tapeworms because they do not have a spirit. Good luck to you if you decide to preach to them.

Because animals have no sin, we were the only ones who tried the forbidden fruit, we are the only ones who kill for pleasure, we are the only ones who had made from sex a business, we have been the only ones who have killed our children, we have been the only ones who have slaved our equals, we have been the only only ones who have damage the nature, we have been the only who been killing each other because color, religion, nationality, language, etc. We have been the only ones that knowing that there's a supreme being out there rejected him, we have been the only ones who kill our own race to sale their organs to the best buyer, we have been the only ones that kill our own babies, even before they got birth, we have been the only ones who bring people to this world by "mistake". Do you need more reasons? Because there are many more.

Animals aren't humans. They do not have the ability to reason, nor can they repent. The verse is interpreted by the Bible itself -like all other verses, Scripture interprets Scripture. But if you ever learn to be a Dr. Doolittle, let us know so we can all learn from you.

As far as we can tell, only we humans have turned away from God, and lost our relationship. The rest of creation is said to groan, waiting for the human struggle to be over. Animals are in right relationship with their creator.

the essence of all the gospels contained in the new testament is to love God above all things and to love our neighbor as we love ourselves. this teaching can be applied to all creatures, human and animal.

One would assume that the men who wrote the bible were well aware that there would be no point in talking to animal. However it suggests to me that they were referring to other races who in their minds were inferior. Which suggests that these people already had a built in feeling of superiority. Written by god...I don't think so.

To preach requires words and gestures. For human, it'll be words. For animals, it'll be gestures of kindness, etc.
