OK, it's like this: I wouldn't go out with a dog or a 20th time held back a year person. But, none of these are extremely important. Personally, I think that the looks attract at first sight, and then you get even more selective by seeing who's got the brains. It's a very selective process but it's all a part of finding the right person. Just don't judge somebody by their looks; Personality is more important.

I think I would rather be moderately attractive and have some brains than be a stunner and have no brains but then again I wouldn't want to be very brainy and look like a complete minger

Although having brains gets you a good paying job and then you could afford surgery so brains prob would be better all round! (Only Joking)

However we get what we are given and should accept that as there are worse things in life than not being brainy or not being beautiful, people are dying everyday in this world and we should be grateful that we aren't one of those and be happy with what we have

in a way i agree wiv u. if i had a choice i`d rather have looks and a brain rather than having neither but i`m stuck wiv wot i got. if i did have good looks the one thing i wouldn`t do is make someone feel inferior and worse than they already do. all different people here are all in different circumstances. some might be enjoying life to the full, have loads of friends, able to go out, able to meet people, full of confidence and then u have the other end of the spectrum, people house bound, having few or no friends and unable to meet people and not being able to do anything about it. these people will be feeling really vulnerable in society. all i ask is u spare them a thought. but yes in a round about way i do agree. being confident and having looks and a brain too will open up more avenues

Looks won't get you every thing. Looks don't last for ever. Eventually it's what's inside a person that counts. Brains is the most important. Brains will allow you to be independent and to make your own way in life as you choose it. If you depend on your looks alone, you might have a good life for awhile, but not for a life time. I personally choose Brains.

Given that I have very bad eyesight, given that 'good looks' have a limited shelf life, given that they are easily damaged, given that a pretty picture is only pretty as long as it doesn't become boring, given that you cannot eat a pretty picture or spend it and that it can be readily stolen / removed........

Then personally, out of the choice of 'pretty & vanity' V 'the brains,' then I'd go for the brains.

'Good looks' clearly has a value (to some of us), but they are not a 'mark' of quality or real value ....which you seem to be of the opinion they do.

Take someone like Rod Stewart with his predeliction for tall leggy good looking blondes ~ one after another after another after ~

Watch over your shoulder as there is always (ALWAYS) another younger version of you up-and-coming in your wake.

Oh, and by the way. Just because another woman is not as pretty, beautiful or as gorgeous looking as you cleearly are, it does NOT mean that she is 'Ugly.' And this is something that you seem to look DOWN on from your oh so Lofty High place.

Trouble is, Lofty places are those where peoplecan fal from. Just make sure you have good safety rails.

If 'good looks get you anywhere you want,' then Why are you here debating this with the readers n writers?

Anyway, I'm happy that you are so happy with all your 'good' looks, and I just hope that the Love you have for yourself is sustainable and not in vain.

It's so sad that we can't really find it in ourselves to worship at the feet of your beauty, or drool over you or lust over you or break something because of the frustrations of pure Lust to posses you (yawn). Sad, isn't it.

Sash.

It has to be brains. While looks are important, they will fade with age but brains and intelligence will not. Besides, if you fall in love with someone you will naturally think they are the most beautiful person in the room anyway.

brains you want to know y... because as you age unless you are also a millionare your looks will go as well and then all you will have to rely on is being able to carry on a conversation and if you have no brains then you will be the one sitting all alone while all of the rest of the smart women who were not conceted about there looks are having a great time......oh and btw i got both and i am not conceted about it i just know that i got it from my family. my grandma was beutiful and smart as am i and my daughter as well but if i had to choose i would keep my brain

I was blessed with both (neither to great excess but above average on each). If I had to pick one though, it would be brains...they will get a person further much longer, than looks will.

Neither... I would rather be the most persistant person on earth. You can be pretty and go far, maybe... you can be smart and go far, maybe. But if your persistant and never give up... Your definately going to make it in whatever you want... That is the beauty of America. ; ) There are sooooo many examples!
