He probably doesn't want to be made fun of for being un-manly. Which is stupid. 'Cause armpit hair is nasty. I don't blame you for wanting him to shave it.

Ya know - my dad has always shaved his armpits, because he says it keeps the smell down. When I got married - my husband kind of freaked out the first time he saw my Dad's pits - but I explained to him what the deal was - and so he tried it. And guess what - it really does work, because when you sweat - that odor clings to the hair, and also the hair prevents your antiperspirant from going on completely. So - tell him that he will smell better at the end of the day if he does it - and it is not gay.
P.S. - Danny you rock - I agree about the butt thing! LOL

For a lot of guys, fully shaving any body part will seem very girly or gay. While there is nothing wrong about that really, it will be very uncomfortable for a lot of guys. My suggestion is that instead of full shaving, that you use an electric hair trimmer on a medium setting. It will keep it neat (which I suspect is what you want) but keep him feeling manly enough.

Because it is generally not something any men do, GAY OR NOT. And to the person who said it was gay to shave your armpits, I'M GAY and I dont shave anything but my beard. In fact, more hetero bodybuilders shave their pits AND their legs than any gay man I know, you frikkin homophobe. So stop with the "all gay men are girly" stereotype. We're just like you, sometimes MORE manly than straits.

i imagine that shaving the armpits is extra hygenic, it would not be counted even if you're male or lady. once you sweat, it smells in case you ave hair yet would not a lot if there is not any longer hair.

I'm with you on that one, I think it would be cleaner if men shaved or at least reduced the underarm hair a lot. I can't imagine having all that hanging down, not to mention how sticky it must be with deodorant rubbed all over it ---Ewww!

Reason he don't want to shave is that HE'S just too damn LAZY.
he don't want the extra time and effort involved. The same reason why
MOST STRAIGHT GUYS NEVER WIPE THEIR A.S.S.E.S REALLY CLEAN LIKE THEY SHOULD. They simply can't be bothered.
I'm a guy and I know the guy mentality well. but I'm special cause I clean out my a.s.s. diligently and systematically. And there are not that many like me - and most would be gay that are clean down there.

I don't like hairy armpits, so I shave mine. If you let yours grow, He'll probably see your side of things pretty quickly.
