Okay you have a horrible headache that is untreatable to this point, you need to go to the Emergency Room ASAP this could be a migraine in which case they will give you some pain medicine and relieve your headache then you can follow up with your primary care physician, or it could be something more serious but it needs to be checked out right away. Tumors, Strokes and Infections all have Severe Headaches as a side effect in some patient and you need to rule these things out. I have had headaches for 13 years and when I had my first real headache, I had viral encephalitis ( a brain infection) I acquired from a mosquito bite. 40% of the people who get the virus I acquired die within one week especially if untreated. The moral of the story is, if you have a bad headache that you have never had before, and it refuses to go away, then get to the Emergency Room immediately, this could be a life or death decision.

Sounds like you have a migraine, my aunt gets them often and they can last anywhere from a few hours up to 2 or 3 weeks. Even if you've never had them before they can occur at anytime in life. I'm glad you're seeing a doctor. He/She should be able to help you tremedously whether it be a prescription or helping you figure out what triggered it, most of the time it's a type of food. Anything from pickles, hot dogs and yes even some fruits. If you're on the computer often I'd advise to take a break, that's how mine usually start, and I have nothing but computer classes in school. My advice is to rest completely for the next two days if possible. Cold cloths or warm, ask someone to massage your back or temples, a warm bath, just take time for yourself and sleep. Hope this helps, get well!

I get migraines, cluster headaches, etc. You can try something with caffeine in it. I know that the Excedrin migraine has caffeine, but try some coke or Pepsi - same but different. If you can't wait until you go to the doctor, you can go to the emergency room. They could give you something to relieve it. Other wise, try the pop, lay down in a dark and quiet room, then try some deep breathing exercises; that will also help relax you to try to relieve the migraine.. Good luck

If your headache doesnt respond to the analgesics then you have done the right thing in going to the doctor. Migraine headaches can be very painful. You can look up on webmd or whatever some home treatments for migraines.
Your doctor is the best person to diagnose your condition.

Yikes--
What kind of headache?
If you want to try some things that help me, I would suggest:
(1) Put pure, unadulterated essential oils like Peppermint, Relieve It, or Panaway near your source (rub a drop into the knot in your neck base if that is a source place) and add about 10 drops of the same sort of pure essential oil (nothing cheap that is possibly impregnated with solvents)-- Lavender or Peace & Calming are good choices-- into some epsom salts and add to running bath water for a very relaxing bath that will often remove any headache. Essential oils will 'oxygenate' your brain. Little oxygen in your brain will result in a doozy of a headache. Evergreen tree oils and citrus oils are also helpful. You can come and check out different oils at my site at http://tinyurl.com/ykxyuk
(2)Don't overdo the water-drinking. Eat more fresh, raw, ripe, organic vegetables and fruits to hydrate yourself and raise the pH level of your blood.
(3)Check out EFT, tapping away headaches is often very successful. Go to http://tinyurl.com/tk98m
Hope you are soon relieved!

Headache is a pain in the head, scalp or neck. Headaches can be
caused by minor problems like eyestrain, lack of coffee or more
serious reasons like head injury, brain tumors, encephalitis and
meningitis. Taking painkillers continuously can have harmful side
effects, so it is better to modify your lifestyle. More information

It is possible that you have HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE or a BLOOD DUGAR PROBLEM. Either one of them can cause a MAJOR HEADACHE! When my blood sugar is extremly high or low my head aches for hours. I am never able to stop it with any meds. A couple of my friends have also told me that the same is true with High Blood Pressure. It is possible to have them checked at many of the pharmacies. I hope that you get relief soon! Have a great holiday.
