In the Christians' point of view, those who reject Christ as their savior will go to hell. However, I've heard many a religious man say that people who are ignorant of Christianity or Jesus Christ will not be punished, just as children who die at a young age and are unaware of religious issues such as these.
The church groups travel around trying to inform people about Christianity, so that they won't be ignorant about the subject. This doesn't make any sense. Why would they want to risk the individual rejecting their god and end up suffering in hell for all eternity, when they could merely NOT tell the person about their religion and there would be no consequences?
Just a note: Please, no "god isn't real so who cares" answers. I'm asking from a Christian perspective. Call it hypothetical, if you will.

Funny, I used to know a group fundementalist Christians who believed the Bible literally, as it is written, who will insist it is their God-commanded DUTY to go to countries where they are unwanted...to the extent of being hunted down and either jailed or killed. How did they elect to miss the "shake the dust from your feet as a sign" message? Further if I understand correctly (from Revelation), if a person has not heard the message they will be saved regardless, but if they hear it and choose not to accept it, they are condemned. If this is true, why would a believer knowingly put someone else at risk? where's the love in that?

God reveals himself through all creation. If someone hasn't heard about Him or Christianity it doesn't matter. They will still have a sense of God. I don't know how the logistics work but they do. If you live in a society where religion and Christianity and the notion of God is at every corner and you choose to ignore it and live in your ignorance, that's still your choice and you're still going to go to hell. Ignorance is no excuse when the things that He has done and created and His word (the Bible) is right there on a plate for you.

I'm reasonably sure that not all the "ignorant" are just and righteous people (in a general humanitarian sense) and among them only God knows who will be saved (just for the record, God doesn't "send" any one to hell, hell is what's left for those who choose not to go to God).
Also, evangelism brings those people who would choose God anyway into the larger fellowship of Christianity.
I don't want to try and make up the mind of God, but my guess is that those who God would save anyway become Christians when they hear the Gospel of Jesus.

It is all about power, hon, and money. It always was, and it always will be. Jesus had no idea his simple rejection of some of the laws of judiasm would result in the kinds of things that are now going on 2000 years after the guy died. But kings found power in having the masses believe, and used it to make themselves rich, create countries, conquer people, you name it. This space is too small to go on....

I believe that most of the world believe the same things as taught in most religions. Don't kill people, Don't screw your friends partner, Honour your parents, etc. These are the things that Jesus also believed and so I have no trouble in admitting to the same beliefs. Not complicated unless you insist on making it so.

It is said that the end times will not come until every person has heard the news of Christ. If this is the case then no man will be able to use the excuse "lack of knowing" for the reason of rejection. Thus leaving every man accountable before God.

You ask a fair and literate question. Thank you.
a) The Bible states those who do not know of Jesus will be punished LESS than those who know Jesus and do not follow him. There is no where in the Bible that says unbelievers will not be punished. Revelation states the opposite emphatically.
b) Christians seek to evangelize because it is in their Gospel - i.e. as inherent of the faith as breathing is to life.
c) Given "A", if there is a chance of bringing someone eternal bliss versus condemnation, then simple decency requires me to present them with THEIR choice.
One other factor of note: Believers go through the judgement first. cf Jerusalem in OT

I dont think thats true about ignorant people going to Heaven Jesus said to go baptize and make believers of all nations
To not tell others about the joy of Jesus would be greedy and selfish It would be like discovering a huge gold mine and keeping all the mony to yourself and not donating it to charity or needy people

" always thank my God as I remember you in my prayers, 5because I hear about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints. 6I pray that you may be active in sharing your faith, so that you will have a full understanding of every good thing we have in Christ. 7Your love has given me great joy and encouragement, because you, brother, have refreshed the hearts of the saints."
