Under 18: Applicants between the ages of 16 and 17 may obtain a marriage license by presenting the following information:
• Sworn consent from each parent, each legal guardian or a judge - in person - before the county clerk at the time of application. Those giving consent must provide proper identification, including a: valid driver's license; valid state identification card; valid Illinois Department of Public Aid card; valid passport. (If the legal guardian is giving consent, a certified copy of the guardianship papers must be provided.)
People of the opposite sex older than 18 years of age who are not blood relatives may marry without parental consent.

Why would you want to know this? You shouldn't even be thinking about marriage until you're at LEAST 25. There's a reason that most states don't allow marriage until 18, but I think the age should be raised to 21.
At 17 you don't have enough life experience under your belt to be tied down to any one person. You have to go out and experience life while you're still young enough to enjoy it! Go to college, get a job, live on your own for a while. Only then should you consider marriage.

In most states the legal age to marry is 18. With parental consent you are able to marry and become legally emancipated. This is the general rule. You can become emancipated through marriage, going to court in front of a judge or join the military. Go to usmarriagelaws.com for more detail.

First, I would say don't be in such a rush to marry, secondly it depends on where u stay, but if you are underage, as long as your parent/legal guardian approves it you can marry at 17.
