I work 3pm-11pm. My goal for the past month is to start exercising. My issue though is that I have a problem waking up in the morning to do exercise before I go to work. I would like to wake up particularly after 9:30am to have a good work out. I need suggestions!

Any time you exercise you burn calories and fat. The best time for you to exercise is anytime you can do it so that it works into your schedule every day or at least 4-5 times per week. If 9:30am is a good time for your schedule then do it then. Since you don't go to work until 3:00 then you could exercise from 12:00pm to 1:00pm and still get showered and changed and get to work with plenty of time to spare. Be sure to eat a good breakfast so you don't work out on an empty stomach. Good luck with your new exercise routine, before long it will become part of your life and you'll feel better for it!

You can easily burn calories at night when working out. The problem will be trying to get to sleep after an arduous workout. You'll probably need up to two hours to cool down and relax a bit. The time of day you choose to exercise is entirely up to you.

Yes, you *are* burning calories. As you typed in your question here, you burned calories with each keystroke. Thinking burns calories, and studying burns the most. You can loose weight and gain muscle via exercise anytime of the day. There's not much science behind worrying about *when* you burn calories. Burned calories are burned calories. I just burned a few typing this answer. If I could just burn enough to regain my youthful figure! : )

You can burn calories anytime! You even burn some when you sleep. Try exercising before you shower before work. You'll feel energized!

If you workout prior to going to work, or first thing when you wake up, you continue to burn calories throughout the day. The whole myth about if you workout at night you burn more calories, is just that...a myth. It give me a reason to keep my gym open longer...but its not true

Everyone burns about 12 calories per hour per 25lbs of body weight while they sleep...so a 125lb person would burn 60 calories an hour and a 150lb person would burn 72 calories per hour and so on...

You can work out any time of day. It does not matter. You may have a little trouble getting to sleep if you do it RIGHT before bed, but otherwise you are fine. The excuses have been extinguished. Hit the gym.

Sure you can. It doesn't matter when you exercise as long as you do. An hour of exercise before going to sleep would also ensure a nice, deep, refreshing sleep.
