I want my pics to be black an white except for one object in the picture i want that to stay colored. How do i do that? What is a good program for that?

Here are the best free image editing software:

1. Gimp (professional quality image editor like photoshop). Only problem is that the interface needs some time to learn.

2. Photofiltre(great user interface and lots of feature. It hass add-ons too and you can download those to enhance features). I hgihly recommend this.
3. Paintdotnet (based on MS framework and it is also very powerful).


Those three are great quality image editors which can do all your needs. There are some regualr image viewers like faststone, irfanview,pixia,picasa etc, but those are not great in editing capbality but handy for regular image organizing etc.

Adobe Photoshop is probably is your best choice. Take the following steps
1. Duplicate the layer.
2. Select the area you want to stay colored.
3. Mask this area.
4. Select grey scale for rest of the picture

Selecting the portions of the picture that you need to remain colored is the hardest part in this process.

use any photo program with grayscale conversion.
