Well, he was hated by many people back then, so why would it be any different now? He never claimed to be here for a popularity contest - it was to change the way we live while we are on Earth.
Oh - and if you call someone who performed miracles, raised the dead and healed the sick a wacko - then what is someone who claims to know the 'real truth' yet can't do these things?

Haha, probably. As a matter of fact, I heard a story the other day about a guy in eastern europe who proclaimed to be a prophet of some sort, and everybody was scoffing at him, and I thought "...Wait a minute, what if that's the next Jesus?"

I agree it is likely a fact.
We hung the guy on a cross 2000 years ago...why do we think we would do any less to him today?
People are way more concerned about seeing the devil in their fellow man rather than seeing the Christ in him...or AS him. How would we even recognise him...?
