I am looking for this ammuntion for coyote hunting because they dont mushroom and have minimal exit and entry wounds.

Bound's hubby here:

I respect your desire to have ammunition... however, you are 13 and federal law prohibits you from owning ammunition. If your parent or guardian would like you to have ammunition they could purchase it for you and allow you access to it. In that case, they should be the ones looking here, not you.

Leave this task to your parents.

FMJ is illegal to hunt with here in WI, too. Although it can be purchased at Cheaper Than Dirt.com and I think Cabela's has some too.

Use a smaller caliber. .223 Rem, .22-250, .220 Swift, .243, 6mm Rem, or .25-06. Gives you an excuse to get another gun for the cabinet or gunsafe anyway. I do know a guy who also handloads .270 brass down for "dog lead" but that's bigger than I would want to go.

I have some of the Remington Accelerators that the other guy was talking about in -06....they're all over the place and very inaccurate. Don't bother.

In most cases metal jacket ammuntion is illegal. If you want minimal damage to the hide, i'd suggest using a 243 or a similar smaller calibre. They are flatter shooting and should minimize the damage. Another way would to start trapping coyotes although keep in mind you will get more than just coyotes.

cheaperthandirt.com probably has some
A better choice for coyote would be a 243, 223, or 22-250 and get hornady V-Max bullets, these things absolutely rock, with a head shot on a coyote you may not even have an exit wound

I have not tried them, but know that Remington makes a 55-grain, Accelerator round. It's a 30-06 that is jacketed, similar to a shotgun slug, and carries a 55-grain bullet. This might be the small cailber round that you want to try for coyotes. It is a soft point round, and probably similar wound ballistics to a .223

if you try it, please let us know how it went.

It is illegal to hunt with bullets that aren't soft point, expanding bullets.

If you want full metal jacket ammunition as a good, inexpensive target round for when you're at the range, try:

The great thing about 30-06 is you can find it anywhere, including Wal-mart. Check the laws in your state regarding coyote hunting ammo requirements.
