How can I paint over indoor semi-gloss WITHOUT having to sand or prime? I'm lazy and just want to cover the spots that are peeling. Its doors, baseboards, trim...WAY too much to sand/prime it all and I just dont have the time for all that pre-work.(the folks who lived here before me repainted a white semi gloss over a tan semi-gloss and its peeling terribly and looks like shyte.)

You can use a product by Pasco called Liquid Sander. It is a deglosser that breaks down the previous layer of paint and allows the new coat to bond. You simply wet a rag with the liquid and wipe the area you are painting down. Just follow the directions on the can. To get the best results you will still have to sand the edges of the areas that have peeled or you will lot be able to get a smooth finish. You have to work fast if you have a large area, because if you let the liquid sand dry, you can end up with the paint still not sticking.

paint the same color over it. depending on the moisture level - humidity - it will peel again - you generally prime so that the peeling is delayed. for all you know the folks who did it before you were lazy as well!!

IT SOUNDS UNUSUAL THAT IS IS FLAKEING/CHIPING. THE PROBLEM MAY BE THAT THE LATEX AND OR OIL PAINT CHIPPING FROM EACH OTHER. THEY DONT MIX AND MATCH. SORRY ABOUT THAT. TEST A SPOT WITH THE LIQUID SANDER PRODUCT FROM MOST PAINT AND HARDWARE STORES
