~~~ Greenwood,,,, According to the Hindus and other Reincarnationists, Pain/Suffering is considered to be necessary for Soul Growth,,, and to experience the pain of others via Empathy/Sympathy/Compassion. This is an element of Karma,,, in action. Those who have not yet reached the level of Understanding about their Fears/Insecurities have a problem with the Expression of Love Energy. (The Heart Chakra) Either in the Giving or Receiving,,, or Both. This of course is a simplistic answer,,, but The Science of Psychology should be called into play here for The Individual to get in touch with The Higher Self,,,and The Subconscience in order to better understand The Self.,,,Know Thyself,,,
If we all lived in a comfort zone, when would we ever thirst for God, or see the need to come to the Lord, I think its that need that each of us is created with from the beginning.
Also this world is full of sin, so until we come to The Lord asking forgiveness, and guidance, we won't be on the right path.
Evil is full of tricks to make us think we are doing well, but there is always a dead end if we don't take the right road.
I personally think you may be right. I think that if we experienced no pain (physical, spiritual, or mental/emotional) we would not be able to experience love, joy, health, and peace as fully as possible. I do not believe that God (or any higher power) causes pain, pretty much it is the simple result of our actions, reactions, and results from others actions. A good book to read about pain is by C.S. Lewis, "The Problem of Pain".
No, sorry, we experience pain--physical or emotional--mainly because we are imperfect. Stop and think about it: if you were perfect physically and you stubbed your toe you would feel pain, because the body is designed to react to such situations by sending pain signals from an injured site to the brain (although it is less likely you would stub your toe to begin with). However, in the same scenario, you would not experience emotional pain because you would be able to think things through clearly and thus avoid situations leading to such pain. That's my humble opinion; accept it or not, as you wish.
I believe in that concept or belief.
I read this in a book recently: "You will never really love something until you lose it, or face the danger of losing it."
It's the same with someone you love. You don't appreciate or truly love them, until you could lose them, and you realize how bad life was before you knew that person, and had that person in your life. I recently lost someone who hadn't meant very much to me while we were together, but now I dearly miss him. (Don't worry, he didn't die, it's not like that.)
I suppose it's just the way of reminding us how much life sucks without people we love, and who love us in return being in our lives.
I have learnt my lesson in this.
Exactly. You've nailed it. Some people can't wrap their minds around that, though.
