Faith is belief because you want to believe is true (or fear something is true).

Perhaps you can show how kids really want Santa Claus to exist, so they really believe he does exist.

look up James. there is a whole chapter about faith in james. At the moment I don't have the Bible with me, but i do know that it's an extremely helpful chapter. I think it's either Chapter 2, 3, or 4. Im not sure.

Faith is when we give up on trying to do something on our own, Faith is letting someone else take control of our matters in life, Faith is to Trust, be able to let go knowing that Jesus Christ will take the wheel, the controls, our problems, our worries, anger, and any other thing, that we cannot handle on our own.
Faith is trust, knowing The Lord is always with us, no matter what, even when we don't feel it.

Go to Samuel 17 and note the things that David did by faith leading up to and including his encounter with Goliath. There was a series of little things like obeying his father, leaving the sheep with a tender, etc. read and be amazed.

BY FAITH DAVID: What he did:

1) Obeyed his father and took food to the Captain of
Israel’s Army

2) Left his sheep with a keeper.

3) Measured Goliath against Almighty God, not against
himself.

4) Dismissed the harsh angry words of his brother,
(spoken in unbelief). And he turned from him.

5) Encouraged King Saul and his men; “Let no man’s heart fail
because of him, I’ll fight him”

6) Resists King Saul’s belittling words as he talks of Goliaths
fighting experience and David’s lack of it.

7) Rejected Saul’s armour because he was not familiar with it.

8) Selected weaponry that he had experience with.

9) Devised a strategy that by-passed the shield bearer.

10) Withstood the Giant’s intimidating words and posturing by speaking words of Faith in God’s ability to deliver him.

11) Prophesied to all the assembly that they would know that
day that the Lord saves not by sword and spear, and that
the battle belonged to God.

12) Pursued the Giant and Prevailed over him.

James 2:14-26 Faith and Deeds (Faith and Works).... You could apply this how you need to have faith and life in Jesus but out of this comes works. But also works without faith is dead.
Many xf's

Well, have you got a lot of time to say it all?

Faith takes action. Thus: Praying, giving, fasting, all in the trusting of the God who inspires faith does something rather important for the believer. It opens up the believer to making the connection to the God of our hopes!

All other acts that are done in faith are to His credit. That's why we say, "Glory to God!" Because it's Him who inspires us to do them. They also have eternal consequences. It is really a great thing to have trust in Him. It's the beginning middle and end of what it is that makes us different in the world.

Trusting God means that we are denying ourselves. We set aside ourself for the works of God that tends to benefit others. It makes us act as if there are things more important than this life, in favor of the life with God that is coming.

So we hold on to the things of the Earth not too tightly, and the world looks on in disapproval because we see to be wasting what we have here. But we know that Jesus said to lay up treasures in heaven, and we obey.

So faith enables us to live as God's children, in the most basic understanding of Christianity, we turn from ourselves, and believe in the resurrection of Jesus Christ. And the world believes us wrong, foolish, wasteful, and even delusional.

God loves us, and we know that because Jesus said so. So we trust Him, believing in nothing of ourselves, in perfect trust of Him to give us the right things, the right words to say, the right circumstances in order to perform the acts of righteousness that He would have us do. Faith gives us life, because the Spirit of God is life in us, and we go through life trusting that He is the object that our faith must focus on until our course is finished.

I hope that helped.

I wrote a poem on Faith once it goes:

Faith is believing when all hope is gone.
Faith is to keep singing when there is no song.
After all a mountain is just a large hill.
You can do anything if it is God's will.
