technically, scientifically, the chicken comes first
the reason for this being- implied in the question of the relationship between the chicken and the egg. It is just a stupid answer to say another animals egg, eg a dinosaurs.
Therefore for a chicken to have come from a chickens egg, a chicken would have had to have laid it. Biologically when other birds/dinosoars developed into chickens, it is the animal that is classified as such, and not the egg.

the chicken, if one chooses to believe in the creation theory. if so, then god made animals, not eggs or fetuses, etc.
if one chooses the evolution theory, thats a little more difficult. there might have been a mutated baby bird that was the first chicken, but came from a bird that was not a chicken. thus, the egg may hav come first.

The egg came first. during the durasic period, all forms of life came from an egg. It was much later that mammals gave live birth.
