What kind of editing software? I am in the dark! lets make some guess:

Best free Image editor:
1. Gimp(professional quality)
2. Photofiltre
3.Paintdotnet

Best free image viewer/organizer/basic editing:

1. faststone Image viewer
2. Irfan view
3. Picasa
4. Pixia

best free registry editor/junk cleaner:
1. ccleaner - thebet in town!

best free video/audio editing:
1. Virtual dub
2.Audacity

What else I should guess?

I suspect that you mean photo editing, and if that is the case, I would strongly suggest Picasa, now available through Google.com - it is easy to use and has most of the tools you will need - it is also free... Good luck.
