Atheists do no longer instigate wars because of the fact we purely have not got the motivation. a minimum of so a ways as theism is going. traditionally atheist countries have been communist and as capitalist pigs hate all varieties of socialism... Communism is attacked and for this reason atheism is attacked. it fairly is the reason we are often met with skepticism, we could be filthy heathen pinkos if we are atheists! that isn't the case. on a similar time as i'm an advise for the two atheism and socialism i do no longer think that they could be bundled mutually like they are in a lot of people's eyes. to respond to your question, specific the worldwide could be a greater efficient place. There could be a ways much less lack of expertise and close to no holy wars. If we've been to instigate wars it may be basically to quit the injustice of theistic countries or if we've been a socialist united states of america than it must be a conflict over our financial policies yet it fairly is provided that we've been to be provoked.

I do not drive too fast, even if i don't agree with the rules. I give too much change back to the girl behind the counter in the supermarket. When i find a wallet on the street, i return it to the owner without expecting a reward ,because the relief on your face is worth more to me than money. In a bar i'll talk to you, when you are standing alone. I will never jugde or disrespect you on your looks, not even on your charactre.
And i do that without any God telling me to do that
I give to charity, i seperate my garbage for a better environment. I rather put on an extra sweater, than to put up the heater. I never throw my chewing-gum on the street. Every week i buy the paper from a homeless person. I will help and support you if you're attacked by drunken guys on the street, i'll avoid the fight, but i'll never leave you alone. I help the old lady cross the street, i'll bring the crying lost little girl back to her mother.
And i do that without any God telling me to do that
I know no rules, except my own thoughts. After thinking everything through, i have to conclude that there must be 'something' to make this all happen. I've looked around and inspite of all the misery, the poorness, the crime, the hate, i don't see humans as sinners, but as people with choices. I don't think that i will be lost if i do not meditate on a mountain or pray under a cross. I don't even believe that the guy who blows himself up between a group of schoolkids will burn eternally.
And i think that without any God telling me to think that
Every person has something good inside. Sometimes on the surface, sometimes deep hidden inside. I hope that the God they all talk about, is not the guy with the beard sitting on a cloud. The God i have faith in, is just a metaphore. A feeling. A sence of all the goodness inside the people. Nothing more than that. And more clear: nothing less than that. The goodness in our heart is the most important thing we have. My God has an extra 'O'...Good.
And i am good, without any God telling me that
Good has no need for symbols. No cross, no boring books, no big fat guy, no cow, no buildings with colored glass windows. Good is everywhere and is eternal. There is no need to pray for something good, because it will always be there. There is also no need to pray to end something bad, because the bad will also always be there. Sure there are bad people. These people are to dumb to understand the good. Goodness, kindness can relieve you. Badness only creates more badness. We can never beat the badness. A bad guy with a gun can only be beaten by a good guy with a gun. But a good guy doesn't use a gun.
And even if the Good will always loose, I'll always try to be Good.
Everything has its time, and its place. In our sadness, in our anger, in our happyness, in our love we can see our humanity. These things make us to be the people we are, they shape us, they teach us, they make us really feel. And in every deep misery, there is always a hidden hope, cause we all know anything can always be done differently. This earth is our playground, to feel, to laugh, to cry, to love and to live.
And i live. And that's good.

Some people say "god" answers prayers in three answers... Yes, No, and Wait.
So there are three possiblities:
1. Your prayer is answered the next day.
2.You prayer is answered the next week.
3. You are still waiting for the answer.
So really if god really did not anwer our questions, it could still fit in wait.
ALL answered prayers are nothing more than pure coincidence.

I will read this and comment on it..
A professor of mine who taught christian ethics has on his door, "God, save us from those who believe in you."
I think supernaturalists tend to like it best when they can just serve blame on anything but their own choices. Supernaturalism is nothing anyone can experience, nor test, and is therefore outside experience. If you wish to believe in the supernatural, fine.... whatever works for you. Because the purpose of religion is to help you in your daily life -- be it fear that you will be struck by a bolt of lightening, or of love you feel in helping be a better person to people around you.
As a "non-believer", I find great joy, that my place in this universe is to borrow for only eight or nine decades matter worth about $14. And further, that some of the molecules that make me me, were at one time part of Beethoven, and Mozart. I hear god daily in the music of such geniuses. I see god daily in the energy of a young foal running beside his mother, in the skill of a surgeon who cures, in the smile of a mother as she looks at her child---a creation that she and her husband made together. I see god in the eyes of a child who could not read a word, and in two days can read the entire book. God resides in the hand of the artist who pulls you into his painting -- a painting of just oil and pigments, but that speaks to you and moves you and produces an emotion you would not have had unless you saw the painting. God is in you, and me, and in us all at every minute. And this is a far more real god, speaking in the language of DNA, than some spooky idea of an old man creating and killing people at a whim, and whose mind could be changed by my little insignificant selfish prayer.....Oh, yes, faith for sure, but not as narrow as you have defined. Faith much larger, and including all things, living and non-living, of ideas yet to be thought of melodies yet to be created. Interestingly, only christianity is so restrictive. Eastern religions don't have people burning in hell... sorry, pal. My religion is more vast and more inclusive....And I can live it every moment of my life, not wait for some peacher to tell me what I should be giving to his church so he can sock it away for his own use.... hope these words weren't too big for you....The ideas undoubtedly are...

Oh Gee, why didn't I see it all before? All I have to do is turn off my brain, chuck out all reason, logic and real knowledge so that there will be room in my heart (brain having not survived the purging process) for the colossal pile of bilge that are the accumulated myths and superstitions of your ancestors you have dogmaitzed, institutionalized and have the cajones to call the "ultimate truth" of religion. I'll get right on that and Oh yeah, learn how to spell or at least spell check so you don't look like a total dufus.

How about this? All bad spellers please read! I guess you lost your faith in correct spelling because you never found anything valuable in it and don't know how irritating it is for people of good spelling to see you like this. Maybe you were born with a lack of proper regard for spelling or something, but please go see an English teacher or take a course on the net because I'm sure that you don't want your kids and/or you to go to hell, don't you feel empty of education inside sometimes? Here's hoping you will recognize good advice....

Mark_into.....very good philosophy to live by, the problem is that we are sinners.....ever tell a lie; you've sinned; ever disobeyed your parents; you've sinned; and so on; it sounds like if we were gonna be judged according to our good deeds, you'd be right up there, top notch! But sadly, that's not the case, and that's what we need to keep in mind in this life, what do we do about our sin?

This is exactly the problem. You don't know anything about these people. Athiests have considered the question from many angles, just like you have, and have come up with a different answer. What do you think about Muslims who think of you with disdain because you don't really know god? How does that make you feel? Please treat others with the respect and dignity you wish to be treated with. We are all glad that you are happy with your faith - please be happy for us that we are contented with ours.
Peace and Gesundheit!

I know you mean well, but...
The answer is 'No.'
If only unanswered prayers were the heart of the problem, huh? But it is much more complex than that. Hang out a while and read. You'll start to see why religion is so hotly debated.
