Are you a natural blond? I have very dark brown hair, but I have the olive skin, features and eyebrows to go with it. You might want to use a semi-permanent hair color first in medium brown. I think you'll be shocked at how dark that color can be. You might not need to go any darker.

Blond hair is the most porous of all hair colours, so to colour it to a shade of black that stays in for more than 3 shampoos you're going to need what is called a "filler".
Fillers are specialized preparations designed to help equalize porosity and deposit a base colour in one application. Colour fillers are often demipermanent colour products that:
- deposit colour to faded ends and hair shaft
- help hair to hold colour
- prevent streaking and dull appearance
- prevent off colour results
- produce more uniform, natural looking colour in a tint and
- produce uniform colour when doing a tint back.
In decolourizing (as I'm assuming you did, since you say only part of your hair is blonde) you remove certain colour molecules. A filler replaces these colour molecules. To obtain satisfactory results you need to select the colour filler that will replace the missing primary colour in your formulation. All three primary colours (red, yellow, blue) must be present for natural looking hair colour. If you have blonde (yellow) hair thats being tinted back to an ash (yellow and blue) brown colour for example, you will need to use an orange-red filler so that the result would be the correct shade.
You're best bet is to get it professionally done in a salon, to get the results you desire. A professional stylist will know what colour molecules were taken out of the hair that need to be replaced.
As there are certain aspects needed to answer this question in full for you be able to possibly do this on your own I really suggest you head to your trusted salon professionals to get the look that you want.
If money is an issue I suggest finding a beauty school near you. The students are always supervised by experienced and trained pros, and its usually a much lower cost to you than a regular salon visit.

I would really recommend going with a semi-permanent hair dye like Punky Colours. It will be less damaging to your hair and easier to remove. The main problem with dying your hair black is that it is VERY difficult to go lighter without damage. I agree with the other people who said to go dark brown before going totally black. It's a lot easier to go darker than it is to go lighter (kind of like it's a lot easier to gradually cut your hair but once you cut too much off you can't make it grow faster).

I would first tell you to consult a stylist, because going form light to dark can be messy, and very complicated. If that isnt an option, you should buy at least 6 boxes of hair color (it would suck to run out) and make sure that you saturate every single spot of hair. Have a friend help you.

it's so depressing to color your hair black from blonde...I've done it so many times and regretted it...I'm in the process of getting my hair healthy enough to be blonde again soon. I would suggest seeing a professional though, when you go through that much of a change, if it's not formulated for your hair, or you don't fill it first then it can come out such a drab, uneven, mucky looking color.

Before you decide to change your hair color, I suggest that you try on a black wig first, just to see if this color matches your skin tone, eyes, etc.

Also be aware that you also have to dye your eye brows, and the hair around your eye lids as well.

It is good sometimes to make a complete change in your appearance, but
do make plans, and be prepared to keep on dyeing your hair black, especially everytime the blond roots starts to show.

Good luck.

if it doesnt wash you out, or look to harsh on your skin. Try dark brown first. Then if you think i would look good do black, but get other people opinions too. and for dying it, go to a drug store and buy one with naturall ingredients, and then get a deep conditioner, necuase your hair may become dry.

its really easy, just go to a store like target or cvs or walmart or stop&shop, then go to the beauty section and get hair dye that is black and follow the directions on the hair dye and be sure to keep your hair moist because dye really dries it out.
