dont bring up the other person... take their mind off of it as much as possible cuz chances are everything makes them think of that other person...

oh and try to help them not to go back to the other person... i mean you cant stop them but show them how great they are and how much they dont need the person who dumped them... make sure they dont beg the other person back

it takes much much much time... a gradual healin process... but just be a friend and make them as happy as possible and show that gettin dumped isnt the end of the world!!!

my friend is goin through the same thing!!! all you can do is be there for them in any way

with sex if it is a guy.

well for a girl, probably anything to take her mind off of it will do the trick. It could be introducing her to a hotter guy, taking her shopping, having a girls night out, or a girls weekend away. Pointing out all the reasons why she didn't want to be with him anyway. Basically encouraging any activity that will occupy the mind or time. Listening is good, but if you sit there and let her go on and on about the relationship that is now over, it may just make her more emotional and draw more attention to the fact that she was just dumped. The key is taking her mind off of it and helping her to forget.

Give them something sweet to eat, and have a sleep over with them. Stay up late at night watching movies and just talk with her. If I were just dumped, I would most likely want to have someone near me. Stay really near them until they feel ok. At least, that's what I think. Oh, and give them a make over or something... might make them feel better?

Sorry about these guys- the old saying that there are more fish in the sea is true. Someone else will come along, the hurt won't last forever, just right now. Have some fun and cheer up, its ok to live and like it.

Make them laugh like: "Remember that one time I asked you what the capital of New York was?" Hopefully she finds you funny.
Remember: You might want to give them advice too, and let them share their feelings because they are hurting.
