I see that kind of statement a lot.

"if islam is the same as christian,"

Christianity, properly understood, is in no way 'the same' as Islam.

One of the many distinctions is that in Islam, the followers must 'work' their salvation. In Christianity the followers must trust God for salvation, and God's Spirit does works through the believer, according to God's will.

In Christianity, Jesus is God, and the Savior, the Son of God, all at the same time.

In Islam, Jesus is a prophet, and not the Christ, Son of God, and not God.

Those two little things are only a part of why the two are not the same.

First off Islam and Christianity are not the same.
They have a lot of similarties. But in the end there are some big differences as those spoke of above.

Jesus = god/component of god
Jesus = prophet in Islam

With the day of judgement being determined when all infidels are dead is incorrect.
God determines the end of the world.

And to answer your question. Muslims don't have a sabbath day but they have Friday where they gather at the local mosques/masjids to hear a sermon and pray. Its like going to church but I think its a little shorter.

islam isn't the same as christian...

in islam, god= allah
in christian, god=god, jesus

in islam, jesus is one of many prophets
in christian, jesus is the savior of mankind, the rock which all salvation is built on, and the only way to enter the kingdom of god (heaven)

in islam, the end of the world is determined when all white 'devils' (the infidels) are dead.
in christian, the end of the world is determined by God and God alone.

The sabbath day was originally on a saturday but the catholic church decided to make it on the first day of the week, sunday.

In Islam, people gather for prayer 5 times a day
in christian, people gather for prayer once a week.

Can you imagine if christians prayed 5 times a day, faithfully?

Muslims you mean...

Muslims have a blessed day which is Friday. They attend a Mass prayer called 'Jumu'ah', which means gathering, or if you'de like 'mass'.

The Sabbath day however was the day that a tribe was cursed for disobaying God's orders.

A tribe called ' Al-Sabt', which lived by the sea and used fishing as a source of living, was ordered to save the 'Sabt' day for resting. 'Al-Sabt' is the Arabic word for Saturday, but the people disobayed and went on fishing anyway.

this story is very short, because there is no room for elaboration, I'll look it up for you and give you the address of the site.

Peace.
