Many people mentioned OpenOffice, which is fine. However, OpenOffice is an entire office suite, a Microsoft Office clone. If you only need a word processor, you don't need OpenOffice - it is rather large approximately 92 MB. Instead, try Abiword, a open source word processor. It is virtually a Microsoft Office clone. It is small, only 5 MB in size. It supports many file types including: Microsoft Word, Corel WordPerfect and OpenOffice ODF. It looks and works so much like Word that you could be easily fooled in to believing it is in fact Word. You can download both OpenOffice and Abiword at

I like the download site Filehippo because it screens all the software programs for adware, spyware and any other malicious files. All hosted programs are completely free or shareware/

I cannot help with such things if you mean things such as Microsoft Office style. Try www.freewarefiles.com and see what you can find.
