when you acutally think about it, we say we are hard on ourselves because we want to impress guys, but actually, i think it's to live up to the standards of other girls. We're really mean to each other. I mean, what girl doen't have at LEAST one other girl that she just wants to smack silly? I blame television. lol
Also, guys usually don't even seem to pay that much attention to the little details like blush and stuff

Yes, I do agree with that to a certain extent.
As you age, you see someone totally different in the mirror than you did when you were young. Because inner beauty is more important than outside beauty. So, if we make the effort to make our minds beautiful, we'll be happier.
When you are an honest, good, loving person you feel beautiful inside and it makes you glow on the outside. It can also cause people to be attracted to you like a magnet.
Whenever, we look at good-looking guys and girls, we usually form stereotypes. This is why cosmetic surgery is so popular in our society.
Beauty is representative of good deeds and kindness

I do think that most girls are hard on themselves. We are lead to believe that beauty is what is percieved in the fashion magazines and in the celebrities on the covers of magazines. What most girls dont realize is that most of those people have a team of 10-15 people working on them to make them look like that.... Everyone has beauty, just not everyone sees it ! The perception of beauty in this country is so far out of context, it will be a long time, if ever, if that thought is ever turned around!!!!!

Often yes, especially girls and young women. They tend to get too wrapped up in looking like other girls or celebrities they admire, and not just being themselves and loving who they are and how they look (and making the most of it).
Self esteem issues in females far outnumber those in guys...

I agree. There's a lot of stress with being a girl. Perfection in looks, personality, and academics... PLUS our monthy curses. lol. Girls are also really hard on other girls. We tend to judge far more harder than guys do. But what can we do? It's in our nature. There's less men than women in this world. lol.

I think girls mature faster than boys and are more confident in themselves.
It's the boys that are hard on themselves especially
if they are not popular
