The problem with attaining realization with altered conciousness is that you don't get to maintain the attained level. In is sort of a peek in the back door so to speak. It is the vision that is attained by fasting and prayer that is not only attainable but also you can maintain what you have attained. Truly what happens is that you get to see reality just a little clearer. If you see reality without the addition of chemicals or substances then it is not something that you need to question. Did I get this from this mushroom or is it God? Clear vision can be maintained and acheived by attaining the mind of Christ as a regular discipline. You cannot do it without a full deck. That means that you need to be in a clear state of mind. Altered conciouness was my middle name for nearly 20 years and it all went away with sobriety. The conciousness that I have been in touch with since I re dedicated my life to Jesus is in my pocket for keeps. Every day I start getting in tune with His Holy Spirit and taking on the mind of Christ. That is the creative aspect of God that Jesus operated in. It comes through what we call the anointing. From that place all things are possible and if that ain't high then there is no such thing. There is no end to what God will show you. He created us to be able to see what He sees and believe me it will flip you out if you are not ready. So throw away the shrooms and get a hold of Jesus. Get on the high that is eternal. I get a brand new beginning daily and even moment to moment, as I need renewing.
Peace!

Well, spiritual exploration may not be the most common use for shrooms - but I think that it's the altered perception that is so important at moments like that. The freedom from our usual boundaries and constrictions. It can be very freeing, elightening and uplifting (and it can be hell if not handled properly). It is not artificially produced - your mind is altered to accept and view what you don't usually see. And like life, they are as real as you believe them to be - for this journey is all about perception, otherwise it would never work for all the paradoxes millions of simultaneous individual journeys would cause.

Peace!

Honestly I think you are pretty pretencious claiming you had more "visions" than Moses and Noah combines "hehe"!

Any idiot on mushrooms or acid have visions and laugh their *** off at reality!

PS: I am not saying you are an idiot however, ok! I just said "Any idiot".

shrooms among other things activate areas of the brain that are normally idol , so who's to say, shamanism in its many varities has sworn by the use of physcotropic substances to attain higher levels of spritual awareness ,

Alister Crowley one of the greatest occultuists to ever live also employed many drugs in his magickal practise , I think they are a valid part of sprituality

p.s San Pedro Cacti is better but much more intense , however also legal

some of the most beautiful moments we have in life are with our eyes closed...like when we meditate, kiss, and dream. This world is but a simulated reality....go see 13th floor if you haven't already. and read the Bible.. it's for real. Drugs are fun but not the real thing , they wind up leading you further away from the truth. The truth is inside you..you already have it

I've never tried shrooms. I've smoked weed, and I am more in touch with my inner self and other things then being sober. I actually think it opens you up more. Just my opinion though.

I think they are poison (literally) Once....great. Twice....magical...

Third time, you've got enough toxins in your body to kill a large dog.

Really, dude....not to be messed with.

I hear what you are saying (truly, I do) - but - I'm serious...toadstools are "shrooms", too.
