I recently worked with a trainer at my local gym, and I wanted to know if you have to tip them at the end of your sessions. Is this appropriate, and how much? This is the first time I have done this and I do not want to slight him because I do not kow the appropriate etiquette. Any help would be appreciated.

You could try to bounce a quarter off their @$$ and see if they practice what they preach!

That is up to you. I don't get tips, however I get Christmas cards and Birthday cards. Little gifts like you would give to your mail post person or paper boy. Some of my clients with more money do a little more, but no your not expected to tip them. That's what were there for

I would think not.. they charge quiet a bit as it is.. but if your trainer helps you reach your goal, and you are very happy with your results and want to show your appreciation I would then get them a small gift to show your grattitude such a a fruit hamper or something..

ABSOLUTELY NOT! If you DID tip the instructor he/she might be offended or get the impression that you're trying to suggest that you'd like to hire them for 'something more'. DO NOT tip. Hope you haven't already and good luck!

Good question... I generally just sucker punch them in the stomache to see how tough they really are.

Hint: Do this after your session, not before lol ; )
