Kids don't learn the truth soon enough. I know a girl who got pregnant when she was 10. (don't worry she got an abortion). This could have been prevent if only she knew the truth about how babies are made, and how to prevent it.

sorry if you dont agree, but lifelong! as well as sex, etc. for to long, people have been taught to keep it quiet and that leads to hiding natural drives.so when the norm no longer gives the feeling they had in the beginning, they get creative. thats where i believe some people get the sick thing going, like child molestation or rape etc. just my .02.
ive told my children all there lives, have a good time, sex is natural, but making babies at a time in your life when you cant take care of yourself sucks. no double standards here either. hey if a woman wants to get a lil snuggle's, that dont make her a "ho"
now i also apply this to both sexs. if you dont throw a few back, yes you are a ho,man or woman ho. sex is not "nasty" its normal. now its alot of fun when its um NASTieeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
but hey i cant even remember anyway hahaha. its not morally wrong. whats morally wrong is not educating them.
also its not a big deal to be or not to be in a relationship. just sucks to be lonely, not alone. cold nights suck hahaha best wishes, if you have kids you write the book, and do better than any1 else. then you'll have been the best parent you could be.

I think children should know about condoms and birth control before they actually need them. If you keep an eye on your children and inform them, then hopefully everything will turn out alright. I think both males and females should know what a condom is and how to use it, and all children, when they reach puberty, should know exactly how babies are made and the effects of bringing them into the world. Children at the age of ten should NOT be having babies. They are still babies themselves.

I taught my daughter and son the basics as soon as they learned the difference between a boy and a girl. Not only does this help prevent early age sex but I think it helps teach them how no one should touch them.

I learned about sex at an early age...but that's because I used to watch rated R movies at the theater with my parents and I asked about it when I saw a sex scene at the movies. I think an appropriate time would be around 8 or 9...kids do start going through puberty at that time (I know I did) and it would be helpful for them to know what's happening to their bodies and what could happen when they engage in sexual activity.

The earlier the better. My girls are 9 and 6 and I am talking about condoms and abstinence. I do work in a HIV/AIDS related field so I talk to the children about HIV, what it is, what it means and how you can catch it and how you can't.

We also have conversations about trust and how you know if you can trust another adult and what is appropriate touching and what isnt.

We havent had a conversations on rape or molestation, but given your point on the ten year old maybe it is time we did.
