Though many teens are unhappy with their weight, someone who starts to do things that are emotionally or physically dangerous in order to lose weight may have an eating problem.

Signs of an eating disorder may include:

moving food around on the plate instead of eating it
compulsive exercising
going to the bathroom right after eating
drastic weight loss
eating a lot without gaining weight
constantly talking about weight and food
People with eating disorders need help, or they risk becoming very sick. You might try talking with your friend, expressing your concern, and encouraging your friend to talk to a parent, counselor, or doctor.

I would go to the school nurse and ask her what she knows about anexoria. Ask her what the signs are and what to look for. If you think your friend is suffering from this then you can simply talk to the school guidence councelor about your concerns. It just might be possible that she has a very over active metablism. Have you seen her going into the bathroom within minutes of eating? If yes do you know if she is forcing herself to vomit? Most anexorics do this right after they eat! You do not have to tell either the nurse or councelor who you are talking about but it may be helpful to you because then they can look into it without mentioning your name. It is confidential! Your friend may be in seious danger if this is true, I suggest you try to do what ever you can to see that she is protected. She's lucky to have you for a friend!

Talk to your friend and explain you are concerned about her well being. Do not mention her weight or her appearance (as this may seem as a form of criticism or compliment), talk to your friend about feelings, coping and vulnerabilities. Don't try to solve the problem yourself. An eating disoroder requires the treatment of a trained professional. Educate yourself as much as you can about eating disorders along with the consequences of an eating disorder that goes ontreated, Be honest and don't be afraind to talk to about your concerns.

sit down and tell your friend that you are worry with her weight. DONT PUT HER ON A SCALE that makes them feel even worser about them selves. Or if you want to be cruel, show her a pix of Nicole Richie running and show her thats the path she is on. I recomend the first option, so you accually keep her as a friend. but if that dosnt work then go to option two.

Take a picture of her with her face not completely showing and show it to her. She will see how skinny she has become and it will make her realize the path she has started going down.
