What beliefs does satanism have? Are they violent people?

Theres this guy I'm not friends with but he goes around trying to convince people to read his "book of satan". He seems a bit loose in the head?

In Satanism, we belive we are our own god. Every man or woman is a star. We also belive that you should enjoy life as much as possible because when you are dead, your dead. It is an atheistic religion. We do preform the Black Mass as a form of psychodrama( to relive ourselves of negative emotions that keep us from enjoting our life). In the black mass we DON'T kill humans,eat babies, or drink blood. Those are just common misconceptions spread by christians. A degree of selfishness is ideal but it is not that bad. For example, we may do good to somone we love to make us feel good. Their happiness is our happiness. Satanist are not really violent people, in fact I see satanism as being one of the most tolerant religions.

I am not a Satanist myself but have done much research on it. from what I can determine there is a MAJOR differance between Satanism and cultists.

I beleive the theory behind Satanism is selfishness. That humans are here to live their lives to there fullest and to be selfish and greedy is ok, but they are not known as violent people.

Cultist tend to be the violent types and often are confused for true followers of Satanism.

I really don't have a clue. Personally never wanted to go that far in finding out about it either.

I would think someone had to be a little bit of "Toys in the Attic", and off the wall to even solicitate such a religion to people.

Its not a very popular religion because the entire thought or rumors about it (its considered forbidden/ unholy/ scared etc.)

People who are outright Satanists aren't very effective. Satan works in much more subtle ways these days. No that it makes him any less evil.

Satanists could be good upstanding members of your community. However, they do practice what's called the "Black Mass" where they sacrifice human blood. Sometimes the blood is their own, sometimes the blood sacrifice comes from a willing subject, and sometimes the blood sacrifices comes from a less willing subject.
