I think this is a fun question.
If you believe in a single, omnipotent and omnipresent (all powerful and everywhere) God, then it's hard to imagine what such a being could possibly want.
There's a clue in your ability to ask the question at all. If a being of such enormous power is a reality, this God could entirely control you -- yet you remain free (of course, people do argue about this) and possessed of inalienable free will. As your question presumes there is a God to receive the gift, this God must tolerate your free will even when you make displeasing decisions with it (unless you feel you lack free will). As a gift, you could make choices you believe would please God -- those will be individual to you, and won't cost you much (other than in missed opportunities to be naughty or evil).
Or you could always fall back on the gifts brought by the wise men to Jesus (a close relative of God's, according to this text, so maybe they have similar taste in gifts? Like father, like son, they say) in the gospel of Matthew, i.e. gold, frankincence, and myrrh. Gold is pretty obvious, sort of like giving cash; God doesn't need it, but it's a tribute anyway. Frankincence is a resin: it can be burned as incense (the scent was thought to carry prayers to heaven) or made into a warming oil -- either way it's supposed to have medicinal properties, even to cure depression -- but I have no idea why Jesus would want this other than maybe to sell it to increase his college fund, so it's probably a symbolic gift (it was the iPod-Beanie Baby-Cabbage Patch Doll-PS3 of Kings in those days, perhaps). And myrrh is another sweet-scented resin with medicinal properties; it was used in embalming process by ancient Egyptians -- again, I don't know why Jesus would want this except perhaps as a symbol of death from which he might be resurrected.
Oh, and there's the drummer boy with his "pa-rum-pa-pum-pum" -- if I read the song lyrics correctly, this gift was appropriate because it was all he had. I think he must have had a drum and he could have given Jesus that, but you know how these things are. Maybe Jesus already had a drum, or maybe the drummer boy was renting it from his school so he could be in the band.
There are more clues in the gospels as to what Jesus thought about this. And if you prefer to Old Testament, you'll find there are some lists of things you can sacrifice (give) to God there (goats, cattle, and so on) ... but the rules require priests willing to receive these sacrifices and send them along, and I don't think you'll find any around this Xmas season.
Happy holidays!
