Are you implying that irrational ideas and Christians go together? Why, I never would have thought such a thing...

I have met people who believe that 6/6/06 was the beginning of the end. They believe that is the day the anti-Christ was born, So, yes , they believe that the world as we've known it is over and are afraid that the end is near.
I wonder what people thought in 6/6/1906, 1806, ........1666,........666
I don't remember people making a big deal out of 6/6/1966. But in the movie 'The Omen' , that is when 'Damien' was suppose to have been born. So he'd be 40 now, hmm........

PS: I saw the movie & song you recomended. I cried too. Are you really coming to the U.S.? We will be the better for it I think. Groetjes ( I'm in U.S.)

I read that according to the Mayan/Aztec calender, 12/21/12 is the end date. After that day, if the world hasn't ended, my irrational fear will :-)
BTW, their calender was divided into 2 calenders and they believed this was the 'fifth sun' I don't remember their system of recording the date-just that it coincided with12/21/12
And many Xians quote some Bible verse that says no one knows when the time will be
But....Mark 13:30 has Jesus saying something like 'Some will not see the coming of the second generation before these things shall pass'. If you read all the part before, it describes the 'end of the world'.
And if anyone thinks I'm taking this 'out of context', you probably are!

I think they have gotten past that one. But since 7 in the bible is a holy number the new one won't be the Satanic number which is what we have now. But will be 7-7-07 # 3 of them equals completeness next God, and heaven. A much more realistic out come is that God will destroy people. July 7, 2007 God is going to destroy the wicked. The fortune tellers are saying that.
Revelation 6 the seven trumpets then the seven seals. All point to the # 7 as the time of the end. Or at least the end of all religion she said.

I think it's time to move on with that. It didn't happen and any fears instilled now towards it is unwarranted. Concentrate on WWlll. At least there your fears are justified. Otherwise just continue living and go to your job, be with your family, continue your recreational activities. Learn things, teach things. Love, hate, share, explore. There's so much more to do than to sit down and think about those things. If it happens, it happens. I'm going to get the most out of my life before the end. Yes, there will be an end, and I'll be asleep when it happens. Either that or I'll be on top of a mountain with a 2fr of beer, a quart of vodka, smokes, hard core tunes. And as I watch that mushroom cloud rise above the horizon, I will welcome death with open arms. Face it, if you can't beat him, join him. Hey, pass that joint over here . . .

The real question is, since neither the turn of the century nor 6/6/2006 led to any of their predicted armageddon, why hasn't there been at least a little cognitive dissonance? The answer is - you wont get these folks to change their minds. They're completely blinded by their faith. That's the way it is.

No every one is freaking out about Dec 22, 2012 now. It is the end of the world on the Mayan calendar.

Unfortunately we are going to have to hear this crap for six years. I've seen it here at least three times.

The 06/06/06 hype is over. They're all clinging onto 2012 now. When that comes and passes, they'll come up with something else.
